Much higher resolution, as expected from blu-ray. however, while the upscale is dark and fuzzy, this new version is a bit too bright and "undynamic". Overcompensating, I would say.

All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

What's the difference between the different versions (1.0, 1.01, 1.11)?

What's the difference between the different versions (1.0, 1.01, 1.11)?

1.0 was the theatrical edition for Japanese cinemas. 1.01 is the re-rendered DVD version. It contains subtle edits to many different animations and signs. Someone made a list of all the changes; google it. 1.11 is the Blu-ray edition which takes 1.01 and adds additional scenes in the beginning. Most of these scenes are from the TV anime, but the dialogue is different.

P.S.: I kind of raged when I saw 6.1 DTS-MA, 6.1 Dolby TrueHD, and 2.0 Dolby Digital. I understand having a 2.0 track, but both those lossless tracks could have been removed for a 6.1 PCM track.

why rage?.  DTS-MA/ Dolby THD = PCM audio quality...

kind of like how FLAC = WAV

HAHAHAhahahaha... Yeah. No, not it's not. FLAC << WAV. It's just that most people can't tell 'cause they're using crappy iPod headphones.

DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD are both lossless codecs. There is no reason to include both formats on a Blu-ray. One could argue compatitbility with players or receivers, but all Blu-ray players will output the lossy version if lossless is not supported.

One lossless track is enough. DTS-MA is more efficient than THD because THD is always wrapped in 24-bit depth. That means that even if 16-bit audio is used (which is the case here), the file size increases due to padding. DTS-MA can be flagged for either 16 or 24 bit.

A better solution would have been to simply use 6.1 LPCM. All players and receivers can handle PCM. It even has the same file size as both those lossless tracks combined.

I rage for the lack of effciency.

P.S.: If you strip the unneeded Dolby tracks and special features, it is possible to get the movie to fit onto a BD-25.

Is there  any chance of you releasing just the subtitle file?

Maybe.

But there is no guarantee that it will sync up with your RAW that you downloaded from AnimeHD, IZ, or ZeroRaws. If I do, you will know it.

Since BXT has a policy, I cannot link to any torrent file, or to a site that hosts a torrent file*, that is licensed by ADV, F**i, CPM, or Aniplex. So you will have to lurk the "usual sites" for it.

*I tried linking to my site back on the evageeks.org forums, and the mods removed it. So best to stay safe here.

If it doesn't sync, I can always use subsync to resync the file, so that's not a problem for me.

I see...

hey.. Thora is doing this.. but you know, the thing with them is that they usually use subtitles from other sub groups...

maybe you should've just joined them (THORA) and supplied subtitles while they do the encoding...just become a translator for thora..

THORA's subs are unknown at this point. Most likely they will use Nyoro~n's subs as a base (as I did). But if they use the subs that were pasted on the evageeks.org forums yesterday, then they will be slightly inaccurate.

Why should I ask to join them. I hardly have a background. They did not make a post asking for translators, so I assume that they either have someone lined up or will only ask specific people. I don't care if you get either mine or THORA's, but I can assure you that mine will have FLAC audio now.

I appologize for this but I must interrupt your session for a brief public service announcement...
If you don't know by now, I have been working on a fansub project.
Well, after a week of toiling, I am finally releasing it to the community.
Unfortunately, I cannot provide a link for this anime because it is blacklisted.
But I'm sure you can all find a way to enjoy it.
Without further ado, Reito's Rockin' Rips [3xR] is proud to present...
Evangelion_1.11_-_You_Are_(Not)_Alone_[3xR][Blu-ray.1080p.H264.FLAC][2B6AC996].mkv

Looks great.  I think the remaster is much better and worth it.  Thank you.

Read about the getting past the pause at start, which it does with standard CCCP install.  But doesn't stop with other MPC-HC builds using internal filters, though no sound unless I seek.

How did you solve that pause? Is that related to the audio since it's FLAC (and I think I have nothing to installed to handle that). Atm I skip to any timestamp to get it playing.

I use CCCP with CoreAVC.

Right, just hit the skip forward button, which goes to the next chapter (JCM), so it doesn't skip much.  But can seek anywhere.  This is using FFDShow's Audio Decoder installed with CCCP to play FLAC.  If it doesn't, may want to go FFDShow Audio Configuration, and make sure FLAC is set to libavcodec.  The latest versions of MPC-HC can decode FLAC internally, if want to try that route.

As for it being caused by the audio, not sure.  Thinking of remuxing it and seeing if it helps... or reducing that flac to another format so it fits on a single DVD-9 ;)

THORA just released their's and it's smaller than radionerd's version. Enough to fit in a DVD9.
