I always wanted to do something with images and this is what I have thought of.
I'm not sure what to do with it or how to integrated into the current browse page but maybe this can serve as an alternative means for browsing.

Any feedback is appreciated.

I personally think it's a great idea. Images tell a lot about the anime/manga/ost and, well, I like it so there.

Looks great! would be nice to be able to browse the images though (not just have one image)(add some new info in the facts that mentions that the first image is going to get showed in this section)... since you sometimes might get a bad image ^^

anyway ... awsome idea!

Looks sweet but I think a category icon next to
the picture would be nice too so one can quickly
discern what kind it is.

I think it is good idea, would be if you could set up a mouse hover... When you hover over the image it changes to a different character or image after say 1.5-2 seconds. Would be a pretty neat feature to add in and give a little more information about the series.

This will also allow you to change your search preference. If you prefer the traditional search format, or you can select the new one, or a hybrid of both. This will really give each user the option to search more freely and to their preference.

One thing i might be concerned of is that Box should never start putting in too much graphics, Java or DHTML into their script. Even though we live in the age of High Speed, there are still torrenters out there who don't have a lot of bandwidth, adding too much could cause page loading lag time, especially if they are torrenting while browsing.

Side note - Also, I find box's current layout to be very refreshing, simple, neat, and clean. You need to make sure ya'll never try to bunch in too much stuff onto one page, then it just gets jumbled and messy.

It seems to grab a random image and not just the first image in the description. Of those torrents shown there, only one doesn't have an image (IMO, that's just being damn lazy). The description doesn't have one. Would it now be a requirement to have an image to have this work and not break the beauty that is having all those images grouped together to neatly?

I think it could be an option in the profile to turn this neat feature on for browsing new torrents or the search feature. Personally I think if the same info could be added that we already see (c/s/d, torrent size, etc) to this layout, it'd work for me. I don't think the offers page should look like this because we (read: I) need to read the reasons for torrents being rejected or if a torrent is semi-approved.

I like the idea.

The one question I have is if the images are taken randomly from a page, if it uses the first image it encounters or if it looks for a specific image? I ask because the images for some of the anime look like screencaps while others look like the larger image used in the description (I'll call that the poster). I don't see how this would be much of an improvement if it uses the screencaps. If it uses the poster only this would be a great thing. If it randomly selects from any image on the screen then I would have to say "meh."

It seems like a good concept, but Takes up a lot of screen space and requires a lot of scrolling to find what you are looking for. Most of the torrents already have screen shots when you click on them and if not there is always google. Like I said, it is a decent concept, but might be more work then what it is actually worth for both staff and browsers. Unless I am completely missing the point behind this somehow :S

Perhaps forcing them all into a certain sized thing might help.
ALl at 500*500 or something. Some are MASSIVE and some ain't.

thought about it and ps'd for a min and got this result...

tried to fit it with while having 5 images, but the width wasn't enough with the current category icons.

Good idea indeed, but as i looked at the sample, my broweser (FireFox 3.0.

some of the pictures are overzised and goes off my screen.
and most of the pictures are different sizes, which makes it look out of order and weird.
but with some work i guess it will be good =D

Nice feature, I'm one of those people that often click on the links just to see what the anime image is to determine if its worth taking interest in.

Although one thing I'd have to point out is that a proper image that represents the anime should be used, a bad example would be the ef tales image, its just a image of renji's eyes, which doesn't really help give off the right 'image' for that anime.

Concept idea is good.. but personnaly I rather browse the links...

It shows more animes on 1 page (30 instead of 20), and I have all the infos on the link line (If I seeded or leeched it, HD, or D-A...)

Besides wouldn't it put that much more load on the server just to load 20 images ?? (picturing 150 users browsing the browse.php page at the same time) ??

Love the ideas of pictures, but I would lovethe wealth of information you get from the current setup incorperated a little more. Awsome idea though, I'm fully supportive!
