It's not in 3D. It was a joke on quekmeister's part.

In hindsight, it's funny how many people commented on that part.

3-D means they intend to fail - with the certainty of a Uwe Boll film - and need a gimmick to get people in the theaters.

It caused some cold sweat on my part until I read the article.

I'm ready to kill myself now. This, following DBmovie, has pushed me over the edge.

It's not me - it's you.

Keanu Reeves only knows to plays himself.

I can easily imagine him as spike with his classic *Im as stupid as fuck* look.

Besides.... the movies is made by fox.

They only releases craptastics movies.

Explosion after explosion and lots of "patriotism" thrown in the middle.......... and of course a superfluous "romantic" relationship.

Can't see Keanu as Spike myself... for most of the reasons stated above.

But how the HELL are they going to teach Mr. "I know Kung-Fu" to fight using Jeet Kun Do? Spike's fighting style is distinctive as hell, and necessary for the character IMO.

Though he IS the proper height: 6' 1" (Source: Wikipedia) though he'll probably have to slim down a bit (to ~154 lbs.)

Who the heck are they gonna get to play Jet. He looks to be at least 6' 4" and 200+ lbs. Height Comparison, promo poster

Oh well. Gulliblility is a major fault of mine. Regardless, there are many worse choices than Reaves, what if they'd lined up:
Ben Affleck
Stallone (I actually think this would be hilarious)
Vin Diesel
Jason Statham, along with his awful American accent.
1.I doubt that Ben Affleck will play some super-hero after DearDevil...he actually said that DD was horrible and he hates it.
2.C'mon?Stallone?
3.Nope,not a chance. He's occupied with The Chronicles of Riddick
4.OMG...in front of Jason Statham,Keanu Reeves actually sounds good.
I actually have no idea of who is the best to play Spike....Chuck Norris?Joking.
Hugh Laurie?I don't think so...Keira is good for her part....STEPHEN FRY?He's awfull...too british
Cate Blanchett is good...but she plays in movies for Oscars not movies after animes...so I am sure that she would't accept the role...+she is filming for Robin Hood wih Christian Bale.

You need to turn on your sarcasm detector.

Also, Spike isn't a superhero. I like Jason Statham, he does what he does in a good way. In other words, if you've got a movie involving cars and explosions, he's your man. Keanu Reeves tries to break out of the rut he's always stuck in, but only very rarely does it right.

Only Jet I can think of is Ving Rhames.  He can do both the tough guy and sensible friend IE Mission Impossible.

Hmmz. Now that I think about it. Everyone is all talking about how Keanu Reeves has low emotional depth and the such but thinking back on Spike it's not as if Spike portrayed a lot of emotion. He usually just sat their with that same tired look smoking a cigarette and occasionally lifted a smile here and there.

The hair, and the Fox are only what worries me. Fox...

After seeing what they've done to dragonball, yeah, that has me worried. Hopefully, Watanabe will save it from total disaster.

Yeah, he's one of my top fav actors now, but you didn't mention Crank. I thought he was hilarious in Crank.

Speaking of serious actors in tongue and cheek movies, Clive Owen was really good in 'Shoot 'em Up'.

But Statham is also in some pretty bad movies. Pretty action, but TERRIBLE acting and plot.

but i think some movies dont exactly need great acting for the movie. Like death race... well that movie sucked all around so nvm.

And crank wasnt supposed to be funny i dont think which is why it was funny.

And the transporter movies make him into fucking macguyver (spelling fail) after the first one. I kinda enjoyed the first one

If you like Statham, make sure you never watch In the Name of the King.  I usually like his movies, but that was not his element by any means.  That added with all the other sub par acting made it so bad that I couldn't even finish it.
