I've been watching season one for a while...
It's rather confusing, frankly. I have only a rough idea of what has been going on the whole time. I'm not inside the guys head at all on this one...

I like the 80s setting, and it is nice to watch a serious sort of story every so often. I also like the fact that it has a college setting instead of being yet another high school romance drama. I haven't finished the first season yet, so I don't know what to expect from a second series.

By the way, I don't have either of the coalgirls versions, I have the Eclipse version, but I transcoded it and hardsubbed it to play on my ipod, so I can't comment on problems with video playback.

KgNE (heavy drama) / School Days (I'm serious) / and Idol anime, nice romance, confusion, character development (and destruction). I so love this series. The ending is a big major cliffhanger so ... take the safe route and wait for the second season, or watch it and get miserable!

QFT! Atm it's not exactly like Screwed Days (nice pun^^) but we should wait for the 2nd season though I hop it won't end like it^^

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

I watched the coalgirls version of 1080p without any problems except having small sub settings. Which I quickly upped.

The first two episodes had me considering dropping the series, they didn't strike me as anything special at all. Then they started to pick up and at the end of episode 13 I started downloading the game.

What really sets this series apart is that it is a harem with characters I can like and believe. It isn't like most other harem where you have the girls throwing themselves at the lead. More like they want to get together, but still respect each other and behave mostly rationally.

The downside is that it moves forward quickly, skipping out on some character motivations. Forcing the watcher to guess at why a character just did that. Which is another reason to like it for me, not guessing at the plot or environment, but the characters themselves feel much more real than normal anime. How often in real life do you know exactly why somebody does something? You have hints of course, but no exact moment that shows why this happened.

Sadly the combination of AGTH and Atlas for the game is a bit frustrating. The game is also in 16-bit so any newer version of windows than xp won't work. Leading to a virtual version of XP to play it.

Have you watched the first ten minutes, from start to finish, of episode 1 in the 1080p version? Was there ANYTHING wrong with it wtth sound/video? Like it skips or something? I'm thinking its the files fault to be honest. I played other 1080p videos with zero problems. I have a freaking quad 2 core 2.4GH, 8GB, 2x8800 GT SC SLI enabled. Whenever I play a 1080p my processors, all of them, don't exceed half the power they put out (each). And in the first episode it's always the same parts I'm playing. Did you download the one from BakaBT, is there a second version for episode 1? I haven't checked the other episodes yet.

I am now 1:47 in, no problems thus far except a few skips on the calendar, but that wasn't due to computer load, more like the panning in general lacks enough frames.

2:40 still no problems.

3:40 in intro, still no problems. Didn't bother with it any more, specific times?

I did have severe skips and de-sync problems when I had my virtual box enabled since that took 50% of my CPU power, but once I turned it off and restarted I had no problems.

I am using Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-BETA-2009-06-18_with_mpciconlib.exe for decoding, using MPC HC from that pack.

I see, I'll try to install the newest CCCP. I usually intend not to install something that's already working properly. Maybe I need an update or something. Also, what "virtual box" are you talking about? Are you using Media Player Classic? Can you show me your "output" video box in picture?

That thing about virtual box is nothing that has anything to do with playback, just something that takes a lot of CPU power from me.

If you want a newer CCCP you would probably have to use a beta version (I am), they havn't updated the normal version for a long time.

I am using MPC HC as you asked Build Number 1.2.1161.0.

As for output thingy, I'm posting what I think you wanted

Fixed the problem by going directly into Haali Splitter options and increasing buffer from 8MB to 998MB, plus making Haali Splitter as 1st priority to use my CPU. Works like a damn charm now. I can even jump to and from with 0 to 1.0 second delay on 1080p / flac version! Woot.

So yesterday I decided to watch White Album again, out of intention to watch it again that is after fixing this major problem. I'm playing it on my HDTV and it looks so freaking sweet! On episode 5.

I don't know how you thought your monster of a computer was the cause of your 1080p skips lol, even my 3 year old laptop can do 1080p with no problems.

That ### page spoiler full of hex scared me a bit when i quoted this.

I was about to download this until you said it was like school days, pls say it's not.(its not full of extremely stupid teenagers that you wanna slap? ;) )

I hated School Days but I really liked this anime. It's no where near as bad but there are a few moments that reminds you of it.

Seriously, download it. It's quite good.

It is, but not to the same level you see in Screwed Days. Those teenagers still got some brain cells left.

I would wait for season 2. For me there is still hope that it won't end similar to School Days.^^

yea, the content is like school days, the ending is not like school days, in short ... it's not school days. screw it, it's NOT school days. Watch White Album for the sake of my sanity! It's just crazy that this is one of the best series out there and the thread is not as talkative as the others, that is.

Anyways, watch White Album if you haven't. Very good cliff hanger for a first season. Similar to Shikabane Hime 1st season, except that the cliff hanger is ... 10 x bigger.

My favorite character is Ogata Rina. I'm showing my little sister episode 2, it's my favorite episode and it's when Ogata shows up at Echoes, made my heart pound very fast and hard the first time. I love the animation and some of the water-color animations. <3

It's a hard story to relate for me, though.  :( Probably because it's set at the 1980's, or maybe because the cast is composed of characters older than I am.

QFT, but I think it's so quiet here because the series seems quite complicated, at least that's what it was for me when I was following the anime weekly. Will be rewatching the series either when S2 has begun or finished.

I think its just people haven't really picked up the anime or they just don't know what to say. I would start talking in here if I picked up the anime thats for sure lol. Might pick it up tonight and start watching tomorrow or something.
