It's technique of story telling. Sometimes, it's best to show things as they happen and at other times, it's better to show it only when it becomes important for the viewer to know. It's a pretty common technique, on top of that.
I seem to be the only one who thinks Touya's not a jerk.

I find it important to know if someone cheated on someone else with as many people as possible.
So yeah, its not the same to know that

than to know that
touya is cheating on yuki with every other girl in this harem series, it makes it more dramatic
and it increases the chances of us getting the "they-will-kill-him" type of ending ;D
