IMO, there was even more suspense built up here.
(click to show/hide)After Yuki kissed Ogata, she realized how she was unfaithful against Touya. I guess that's why she started crying. She then ran to him for comfort, only to find him together with Menou (whether or not they slept together is relatively unimportant).
I lack words to describe what happened better than saying that seeing Menou "ruined the mood" for Yuki. That's what Yayoi told him, that her plan (which I presume was to postpone Yuki's and Touya's relationship indefinitely to not upset Yukii by having them break up) had failed.
On a second note, Yayoi also said that she hated Touya, which apparently means that she loves him. You know.
That's what I consider to be the most important part of this episode.
