I am not sure if I would describe like that.
My description would be:
Take your average harem's indecisive male and female characters, add a few years so that they're in college instead of High School, add a few more female characters with different interests (love, financial, etc.) in making the male theirs, set the events in the 80's, make the lead female an idol, pour in a good dose of KgNE and a few drop of School Days. That gives you White Album.

One scene (never shown). School Days' main character, Makoto, is a playboy. Tho' in White Album it's the opposite of School Days, whereas Touya is actually getting played around with. I'll give you a better description, or something more detailed:

Rina plays part of it, his GF's manager (what was her name again? Shinozo?) Plays a bigger parts. Imagine if none of them interfered. Then he wouldn't astray at all. Unlike Makoto ...

(click to show/hide)Well, it's not really unlike every other harems where other girls interfere between the lead male and female like Rosario+Vampire, or from School Days where Sekai was the one who lead Makoto astray. Had it not been for Sekai "training Makoto", School Days would not have ended that way. In that regards, School Days is just an harem with sex that ends really, really wrong.
That's why I felt that the harem analogy was fitting.
