Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

DaggerLite:
I think the fast pace is nice. In the old series, a lot of the arcs (parts?) we've seen so far got split up in two episodes. I didn't think much about it when I saw it, especially since I only saw it after all the episodes had aired. The new episodes are a bit less dramatic, perhaps, but I don't think it would be a better series just for dragging the old story out with fights and other stuff. A rich and well paced story is what I want. It's paced too fast only if I'm left in the dark, or if important things are being left out. I'm not one for fillers.

I don't want to judge the series fully until it's all done, because whether it's good or not depends a lot on the rest of the story.

The only element I don't like much so far is the silly comedy stuff. Sure, calling Ed chibi is fun. But the super deformed drawings and similar slapstick comedy that doesn't fit into the atmosphere annoys me. Good thing it's rare.

I'm hoping this turns into a Juuni Kokki situation, where the fist 8 episodes suck ass, but with the 9th episode it does a complete turnaround and becomes one of my favorite shows of all time. That would be nice.

After reading the comments, it doesn't sound like it's better than the first :-\

Are they still throwing horrid comedy scenes in the middle of tense situations?

deadskin:
Yep. Tbh it occurs more often now.

It seems worse now because the episodes are getting more and more serious so the humor thrown in is bound to mess it up a bit.
