(click to show/hide)I didn't see anything related to that part in the preview. Just the battle between Wrath and GreedLin. Of course Wrath wouldn't die from falling into the water. Though, I am wondering a bit why his homunculus eye isn't healing instantly. Isn't he immortal like the others?
While I said I doubt that he'd do human transmutation, I also meant that I doubt that he caves in to the scientist's will. I doubt that he will open the gate for him, because by doing that he'll lose. But does he really have any other choice? I can go along with the tattoo idea. That is the reason his fire abilities are so potent in the first place, isn't it? He understands some sort of secret about it.
In short, I don't think Mustang will cave in to the scientist's plans. Assuming there's only five more episodes though, I'd say it's probably possible. In other words: I think we will get "5 human sacrifices" before the end.

As for what's on Riza's back, wasn't it all about flame alchemy? I thought it is, did they ever say there's anything more to it? I thought that its all about flame alchemy and once Riza saw its destructive force in the war she decided to seal it so it wouldn't be used for evil deeds.
And it really seems from the preview like Mustang is about to open the gate, otherwise that look on his face (24:08) is hard to explain. and like I said before, I don't wanna think that Mustang will put Riza in danger unless he has a trick he is sure will work 100%.

(click to show/hide)The eye at 24:10 is GreedLin's eye. It has nothing to do with the gate. I am guessing GreedLin will die a few times in the fight versus Wrath.
As for the tattoo being about flame alchemy, that's basically what I went towards. Mustang has an understanding of flame alchemy on an entire different level than others due to it. Whether there is something more to it isn't really known right now.

l don't see a point in killing Riza, she has a considerable fan club, it would be bad, and l think Mustang would lose all resolve, after all, he's fighting to protect his subordinates, if he loses Riza l think he will crack down, actually in teh anime they never really said what that tatoo is, if it was in the manga keep it to yourselves ;]
l salute Buccaneer tough, damn bastard was hard to kill, seriously, even wounded as he was, most ppl would have trouble standing up, and he menaged to attack him at full force, and made sure the gate stays closed, he was an ugly guy but tough son of a bitch, miss Armstrong actually has what it takes to rule the country, she menaged to take the guys that were trying to kill her to follow her orders, damn l love her :]
l kind of thought that Major Armstrong knew more about the gate, he spent quite some time researching Elric brothers, right now he seems silly to me, maybe he took to much beating from Sloth after all ;]
