(click to show/hide)I was pretty happy they way it ended it reminded me of Samurai Champloo. Everyone is alive, happy, and beginning to find their own path.

I think it's rediculous to argue that mustang eyesight was so important for the Ishbalan's and Havoc didn't need to get his legs back. To make things worse Lin becomes emperor with the aid of the philosopher's stone.  That just makes the whole series' message pointless. I absolutely can't believe they did that.

Whether or not his eyesight was important for Ishbalan's doesn't stop it being important to him- if you became blind wouldn't you want your vision back? Just coz Ed didnt want to use it doesn't mean Mustang can't- and don't forget when Hohenheim had the stones within him he got to know each of the people in his body- maybe Mustang thought process was to become one with Ishbalans so they could help him rebuild their civilisation? That's what I believe anyway also since he said "They may get angry at me" indicates that possibly he plans on communicating wirth them.

Overall it was a satisfying ending which is a rarity in anime nowadays i feel- but honestly I may be in the minority here but I MUCH prefered the 1st series to this one. It could just be that I took a long break from this one halfway and was losing the plot alot. Most of the humour did nothing for me and felt out of place at times. But Wrath was so damn kool in this one with his swordmanship - much better than his Pride counterpart in the 1st series.

I think there is one more movie in the franchise. I hope they take their time making however. I like it when good script writers can work on a project.

A good leader need to read. I do not remember Braille having been invented in this universe. Either he reads for himself, or several people go hoarse reading to him.

Faerwon:
I thought the "They may get angry at me" bit was referring to the Elric brothers finding out Mustang had used a philosopher's stone. He wasn't inserting them into his body, but having Marco use them as "fuel" for the transmutation.

I do understand that those souls are still human and every one is precious, but with no bodies to return to, I would see using them as a good thing because they get released from that eternal torment. Didn't one of Envy's souls thank Ed when he did human transmutation to get out of Gluttony?
The series never really explores the religious side of things. Do people believe in a heaven and a hell? Do used souls disappear forever instead of going to heaven?
