I can only answer the first one with any certainty, but I believe she promised...
(click to show/hide) ...to wait for Hoenheim 's return. Dying before he got back would constitute a failure to keep said promise.
For the other you'll have to wait for someone a bit more knowledgeable.

I've seen the TV series (and followed the on-going show) from a long time ago. Now that they've remade it, I'm up to episode 20. I started watching this yesterday. Brings back a lot of memories. God motha fucking damn, isn't this series too damn good to describe? I'm watching Eclipse 720p version. Beautiful. On episode 21. I'm sure they've added few new characters. What else have they changed? (Keep spoilers away please, I don't remember it at all since 6 years ago)

Added from the original show form several years ago? More crap than i can list as from there on out the two shows have nothing in common minus several main people. But man brotherhood far surpasses the original airing as it should. So very much good stuff coming down the pipes for you.
