I definitally enjoyed Brotherhood better then the original series. I am really glad that the voices haven't changed, honestly, if they were different, it wouldn't have been as good to me.

I just started watching it a couple of days ago, im on ep 15. . . TBH I didnt want to see it cause I saw a little of the original FMA and I disliked it a lot. . .but I can see why this has the highest rating in AniDB. . .it is indeed pretty well done and its pretty well balanced in most aspects. . .great storyline so far!

I wanted to see what all the fuzz was about. . . I mean 9.4 on Anidb is hardcore

It's so good probably because it follows the manga like a sticky tights on a wet girl.

I love the animation in that AMV, not so much the music. I suppose it fits really well with the video though.

Brotherhood remains my favourite anime of all time. Short, simple, sweet and nothing stupid.

Felt short but 64 episodes isn't exactly small... But I agree with the other 3. Action and story were epic.
Parts of it I admired greatly, parts I laughed at till my sides were almost sore;
other parts I read with absolute sorrow,  because I think them utterly false and grievously mischievous...

Movie was a nice action flick with some impressive transmutation. Animation was superb (what is to be expected from a movie normally).

(click to show/hide)

One thing that was pretty incorrect. If I saw that correctly Atlas only killed two person for the transmutation circle. But the amount of blood was a bit large. ~5 L of blood circulates throughout our system.

Didn't the soldiers who fell also "contribute"? But yeah, the width of the pipes were quite large so it doesn't make much sense. I liked it and I'll definitely be watching the insane-animating-scenes again. There's a limit to how much my eyes can absorb = try watching Advent Children for a second time. You're bound to see something new and even for a third time.

Did the soldiers contribute? That is the question. I would say no since the transmutation circle has to be kinda... half-open, meaning as little openings as possible.

We don't know how many people actually died there, they only showed around 200 soldiers falling in, but there could have been much more. You can't expect them to show everyone that died can you ?

I'm more confused about the effect the Philosophers stone had on them, people that ate them in the series died if I remember correctly and only humunculi could eat them without worry of dying. That's what I don't understand.
Also, she had the stone made of many lives, so using it all up to heal her brother shouldn't take away her leg at all.
Doesn't make sense.

Everything else was pretty cool.

Watching Brotherhood was a bit painful for me because FMA original has been one of my favourite series since forever. I've been delaying Brotherhood for years and years, and when I finally forced myself to download it I decided not to watch it until rewatching original series.

And when finally I started watching FMAB last April and realised how much more amazing it is compared to the original series I couldn't stand the thought of finishing the series and the story. Which in it's turn became a reason for me to stall the series halfway until recently. And finally a couple of days ago I mastered all my courage and forced myself to watch it all.

I must say that this is by all means one of the most amazing anime I have ever watched. The story, character development, animation, music, everything was perfection. The process of watching this series left me sobbing and crying for hours and hours.

Some people said I'm being silly for stalling it and not finishing especially when original run is one of my favourite anime. But do you know the feeling when something is sooooooo goddamn good you want to finish it as soon as possible but at the same time you are afraid of finishing it and being left without the greatness of it? >< That's what I've been going through.

Well I am not arguing and understand how many feel since the first version was pretty good, but FMA: Brotherhood should be actually considered as ORIGINAL since this is the real story and that which follows the manga.

The first version, which was really good indeed (also one of my fav) followed the manga closely but had a different yet good ending since the story was not finished by then, hence not original, but an alternate version.

I have to say, while the animation was good, I had really hoped for a bit more. If I can be selfish, maybe in fate/zero level. It's not like they couldn't, they could but they instead decided to have minimum requirement and went as far as to animate it only in 576p <rage>.

Well all in all it's still one of my fav of all time.

Well everybody calls FMA 2003 original basically because it took an original route and didn't follow manga. :P I think it depends on how you interpret the word "original". ;)

So that's why Shinsen's episodes looked so awesome and why the blu-ray only looks decent..
