Oh sad the 1st 2 episodes seemed to be very similar and i dint read the manga . I was under the impression that anime normally stick with original story (except when they add filler and stuff). Anyway are you saying they changed the ending. I dunno still watching it isnt as fun when it is just starting from the beginning.(watf its like they died in a mmorpg and r just respawning or smtin)

Woohoo Eclipse gave a giant middle finger to Funimation and their site is back up and running.

FMA:B Episode 5 was not the cream of the crop. It had some nice action, but the story was pretty boring. They through in a lot of bad humor in the middle of serious situations again. I am interested in seeing Winry in the next episode though.

Basically the anime was at risk of catching up to the manga, so they did what most anime that catch up to the manga do if they don't decide to turn the series into a horrible filler-filled pile of garbage...

They made a hole-ridden alternative plot.

All you need to know is the following:  (click to show/hide)King Bradley isn't Pride.  That kid with Ed's leg and arm who was the original Wrath does not exist.  Dante isn't a real character.  Humonculi don't work in any way like they did in the first anime adaptation.
Basically, throw out everything you know regarding the main villain and minions.  Throw out half of what you know about alchemy itself.  Throw out the history of any character older than 40.  Then you'll be set to understand the manga plot.

@dimension: WHOA! Spoiler tag that! some of the people that haven't read the manga are still waiting to be surprised by that information.

Yeah, glad they came back. Was checking all week on their site. @_@

I dunno, having those kinds of things gives the anime a good "manga" atmosphere where it can deliver various situations only a manga can show.

Also, for some reason I caught this in the last few minutes of the episode... (click to show/hide)but you know when Armstrong takes one last swing at Scar and then backs away? Did you notice that his gauntlets...disappe ared?? o__o
