Clannad [Series]
SirSkyRider:
I don't wish to insult anyone, but why is such a fuss made over that series? Basically, it is okay (esp. the real After Story part), but it really is just like Kanon and Air. And I just couldn't bear watching it more than two times.
At any rate, I'm rather skeptical about the next co-op project between KyoAni and KEY. Hopefully they do not repeat the most fatal flaw Clannad had - the way the arcs are linked. With Clannad, you could go and overjump about 1 or 2 arcs and still know what was going on in the one where you restarted.

In S2 there were many things that I was thinking of that they just easily made up a reason for like (click to show/hide)where the hell were Tomoya's friends lol, then later they simply explained, "oh we thought we should leave you alone for a while ...for 5 years... ??? and the whole alternate dimension thingy was alittle weird and confusing (click to show/hide)it turned out that in that dimension tomoya and usio were connected as in one episode she calls the robot thingy dad and then that is when the time warp happens, but when I think about it how in the world does that happen to connect with S1 as usio isn't even born yet, yet both nagisa and tomoya have some connection with the dreams/play p.s. (click to show/hide)Tomoya was bad father lol
What I was hoping for in S2 were more story for the other girls but it focused on Tomoya, so in the end you only briefly see the support characters.

It would help if they could make extra OVAs as alternative routes for Tomoya and the other females like Ryou, Kyou, Tomoyo and ... uh, what was her name. That genius girl ... Kotomi? Or Kotori? I forgot.
I think there's more to the story. They did connect season 1 and season 2 really smoothly. Like in season 1's opening, the girl who was running ...
(click to show/hide) Is actually Ushio, Nagisa and Tomoya's daughter.
Also, when Tomoya collapsed with Ushio in episode 22, if I recall my memory correctly, thats when his life was transfered over 5 years ago when Nagisa was giving birth to Ushio. I think this part was very important, it was critical enough that most auidence members forgot about the "shinning light" that suppose to give any type of wish to the person. There should be more to this "shinning light".
In the movie, Tomoyo's the one that takes care of Tomoya when Nagisa passes away. And the females appear much closer in general (friendship) like Tomoyo and Kyou.
Also, take a note that Kyou only noted that they did not visit Tomoya on new years eve. In the movie, they gave him frequent visits and they were worried about him. I gotta go to work for now, I apologize for any mistakes I made in advance.
Duki3003:
Yes but in the movie (click to show/hide)there is no supernatural effect like in the series - there are obvious differences - how they realised that they are destined for each other - the rest was normal slice of life.
The series skips that fact and gives Tomoya esper abilities? He can see ghosts, predict future and such? Unnecessary IMO
Don't get me wrong - I loved the series - it was very touching and moving - one of few that brought a tear to my eyes, but there were arcs that were completely unnecessary

The tv series covered most of it, but the visual novel still has some stuff (spoiler tagged, just in case):
(click to show/hide)Yukine's route is different from the anime
Kyou/Ryou route
Kappei route

Who's Kappei?
I'm just gonna state once again, Tomoyo is so awesome. Is there a Tomoyo route in the game?! The manga, Tomoyo After: Dear Shining Memories is really sad. I read the last 15 pages of it ... I dunno, I like it alot. Uhm ... is this what you call love?! Hehe.
