The best part between Tomoya and his dad were pretty much all events that eventually built up to visiting grandmother and reconciling, after all it all started from his dad getting arrested. Clannad is and will remain one of the best coming of age shows I ever watched.

I personally find ~AS~ more dramatic, and it's the best work by Key for me. <3

Clannad ~AS~ > Kanon (2006) > Air, Clannad

My personal preferences

I don't count Angel beats, but if I did, I'd put it next to Kanon.

Yeah, if you consider S1 to be emotional, maybe you shouldn't watch AS at all, because it could very well fry your brain.

Clannad is amazing tho, not my usual cup of tea, but it is very well made and very hard not to like it. S1 is fun and had a lot of nostalgic feeling for me, reminding me of those school years and AS, well, that's the stuff of legends, hehe.

You're probably right. I can't remember, it's been like.. a year and a half since I got it.
and I just got it from someone who was making random ones and letting people use them.

I said DearS because the main chick from it has blue hair like the one in my avatar.

Also; Finished Afterstory.
I'm not entirely convinced I understand the ending exactly well. Either way, I wasn't a huge fan of it.
Other than that the series was beyond excellent. Definitely dropping the $45 for each season on Blu-ray.
