I'm having trouble ... In this page, it is stating something about XP Pro and Vista 64-bit.

Does anyone know what I can do to run this game on 64-bit?

Well, what exactly is the game doing after launch? Black screen/won't boot? And what OS? For Vista, try running as Administrator (if you haven't already).

I installed the Japanese fonts a long time ago. I downloaded them via Windows Update. I don't understand what yo umean by "Japanse locale".

Right click --> View image and zoom it to full size, it's a bit blurry.

Also ignore the safe mode, dealing with a PC issue at the moment. I got bored with confirming what I believe it to be because I'm 99.9% certain I'm right and can't be bothered to actually take the time to prove it. That and I have some stuff to organize before the parts for my new PC come in tomorrow.

Okay, I just did that uni-code whatever thingy and now Japanese is showing in full-mode. So the menu that you see from above is all in Japanse now, I deleted the KEY folder in /C and re-installing it again. Gah .... GAHH!

Edit -- Same error.

Edit 2 -- Pictures of things I don't freaking understand. It mentions something about DirectX ... I've already installed DirectX 10. Do I need to install DirectX 9 or something?

some help would be appreciated it. i wanna avoid installing win xp pro at all costs, that OS is so inferior to vista ultimate.

OK, my guess is (based on similar messages) that this game doesn't think DX10 is the right version (hence the reference to DX5). Now, I had a similar problem with Higurashi Daybreak, but I fixed it by running the executable directly rather than using the launcher. (In administrator mode) That's something to try. Number 2: Do you have DX 9.0c installed? That might solve your problem as well.

This links directly to the MS servers so it's safe. So, grab that, install it, and se if it helps. Number 3: If you don't want to reinstall, try MS Virtual PC. You can get that at

Install that, install Win XP Pro and you should be good to go. If you need the XP Home/Pro ISO, PM me, I've got a copy on my HD that I made of my own disc. (Unless you've taken the alternate route known as TPB)

I strongly recommend you install DirectX 9.0c, as that might solve the problem, unless you are sure you've already done it. Anyways, as in the picture below on the left side, ("Zune Properties" is only by way of example, in order to bring up the properties of a particular program, right click the executable and click "Properties") check the "Run this program as Administrator" box and click OK. If that doesn't work, try running in compatibility mode for XP by checking the box at the top, then selecting Windows XP. (I can't set it to that because it's no longer in Windows 7, but you can.)

I did install Direct X9 (latest version). And well, its not Direct X9's fault. The OLDER version of Clannad game (2004) worked without a problem. Yes, it worked! The only problem is its in FULL JAPANESE! There are English Patches, I tried to install them and follow the orders and well, some don't work. I'm trying to figure that problem out. So the game could run without a problem, its those 1241515 patchs that they released. I worked it 3 months ago on Win Xp Pro before getting Vista Ultimate. =[ Darn ... can anyone tell me how to install those things properly?

Yea, I'm doing this virtual whatever thing Queen told me about. It's freaking awesome! I need to get me more RAM now. >_< I'm updating it XP Pro while I'm on Vista watching anime. This is SO SWEET! Woot. <3 Thanks Queen. Now, lets hope Clannad would actually freaking run this time, with no errors.

Does someone know where I can purchase Clannad Full Voice? I wanna own an original copy. I tried amazon.co.jp and it doesn't seem like it allows USA members to register/purchase. =/ Play-asia doesn't have it .... So yea.

Found out the error ............. It requires a CD, people say you can mount the image. I have DEAMON, its just that there is no image to mount. How pleasing.

The English patch only works with that version of the game (i.e. unvoiced).
The translation isn't perfect; as lost of errors and such, but it's still playable.

It's good enough for me, even though it's not actually the full voice version. All the girls are voiced, and it has a TL patch, which is awesome.
AND there's no CD required.
