What is with Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni??

The violence and gore is what makes the series so great ;D . But seriously, even though the first season doesn't give any real answers it is still pretty deep and well thought out. I just HAD to watch the series after hearing my friend say he had to turn off his television at some point because the violence hit him so hard. (click to show/hide) Then after seeing the needle in the rice and keichi slamming Rena's hand in the door continuously all in the first like 2 eps I was hooked. Though I never actually had to turn my television off at all I was cringing and pulling my hair at quite a few scenes. I was a little disappointed though that Kai did not have as much violence/gore.

Yeah, once I got to episode 4, I could not stop watching. I can safely say that watching Higurashi was the best two weeks of my life. It's one of the only shows I really miss. I loved the art style, the music, the characters and their personalities...I can't think of a single thing I didn't like, really.

I think Satoko getting nailed to the cross was the worst thing for me. I almost spasmed in sympathy...

yeah, there were some parts that are really boring, like the detective work and stuff. but really, *insert spoilers here* is what made me hook into higurashi. first arc is the best!!! and last episode too! woohoo!
*still needs to watch kai, and hopes it is worth watching*
