Well actually the point of this forum would be anime discussions, not anime Q&A. In any case, I like how you even posted in the AniDB comment thread for the group Translatorgasm. Right above your first post it says..

Quote
For everyone who still doesn't know: Translatorgasm = Nutbladder = Pem = Darkcloud = Taco, etc. They're not newbies, just released this movie under another name.

I would hope you've at least heard of Nutbladder. At the very least since you were on AniDB anyways, you could have looked 'em up.

IIrc, one is supposed to read a certain sticky before posting here and iirc in that very sticky is one term bolded:

*roll of drums*

Yes, you are correct! It is GET USED TO ANIDB! I could guess something about that but that would be unfriendly and I should be more friendly, wait. Not really.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

*stuff*
My point was that everything earlier typed went over my head. Having now seen the sticky, I'll just refrain from using this segment of the forums.
Also, I'm interested: Is that second segment of your post supposed to be an insult, an "RTFM," or what?

What's the quality of the official subs vs fansub?

I'm actually surprised, the official subs were fine.

so i d.loaded a couple versions and it seems both used the same subs. Im pretty sure every group used the Translatorgasm subs =P The 2 groups i got were Fansub, and Torid. I wound up just going with Fansub. They were pretty decent. Only real gripe was the use of roman numerals without the lines on top for the selacto numbers. It made lines refering to #1 a bit confusing when it was listed as a capitol l.

My opinion on the series now that i finished it?

......wow...just... .wow. What a fucking shit ending. Seriously. Worst ending i've seen in recent memory. The TV series was enjoyable, i would have given it a 7 or 8 probably, but the final movie's ending put it at a 3 for me. I wish I hadn't wasted my time with this series honestly. I know theres a 3rd movie or something but thats just a summary of the TV series from what i remember. I'll have to read the last few pages again with he spoiler tags to see other peoples opinions of it, but all 3 of us that were watching it agreed that ending sucked. I  thought it ruined the whole series

blea. At least Ano Hana was pretty good. I need to watch something with a GOOD ending now.

Ya, the Funi subs were actually really good. For the TV series and first movie at least, i prefered them over the fansubs a bit. Surprisingly well done for funi.. well, translation quality at least. The typesetting was not so hot. Its very thin and pure white font with basically no boarder. It was quite hard to read several times, even on a 130" screen o_O

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but

I finished Eden of the East anime yesterday. It was surprisingly good. Also their references to each other as numbers really made me feel nostalgic for Claymore.

Watching the first movie now.

Finished. It wasn't the best of endings...it wasn't the worst of endings.

It was a pretty good anime, but that second movie was somewhat disappointing. The anime is significantly better than the movies in my opinion.

Yeah, I definitely agree! I absolutely adored the series - wonderful art, unqiue plotline, and Takizawa's and Saki's relationship...

I didn't appreciate this series at all. I didn't even bother to finish with the movies.

Wasn't that bad. Some lapses in logic prevented the series from being great, but it still is one of the better series of 2009.
