I dunno. But if they did, they certainly picked the wrong person.

guess i'll post this here. I heard this series was pretty decent and saw a gif that looked amusing so i figured id give it a look. ADB is a little screwy in listing what goes to where so i checked it on Myanimelist as well and i THINK i realize how it goes, i want to make sure this is the right order

i think theres 3 seasons and an OAV right?

does it go Minami-ke > Minamike Okawari > Minami-ke Okaeri

listed in order of season 1, season 2, and season 3. Is that correct? Where does the Minami-ke Betsubara OAV fit in continuity wise? Also, what do the 'Okawari' and 'Okaeri' suffixes mean?

Oh and btw.. what kinda show is this? Is it a straight comedy? A dramady? Slice of life? just curious.

*edit* it doesnt look like it but i doubt its ecchi enough for there to be a cut/ uncut version or anything is there?

tnx guys, want to make sure i watch it in the right order so i know whats going on because it looks like the last one takes place years later or something

It's amazing what happens when you actually read.
AniDB is in no way 'screwy', unless you've turned your monitor upside down, facing the opposite direction to you.

Minami-ke - Sequel: Minami-ke: Okawari.
Minami-ke: Okawari - Prequel: Minami-ke. Sequel: Minami-ke: Okaeri.
Etc.

What is so hard to understand about that?

Regarding the suffixes: did you even try googling?

I would say I'm sorry, but I'm not. It just really shits me when people are too fucking lazy to help themselves and simply ask others to spoon feed them.

you can also translate additional titles of Minami-Ke:
1- Minami-Ke
2- Minami-Ke :Okawari (seconds as in gomme more food please) one of the group actually translated this in their release of first episode, tough l can't remember wich it was.
3- Minami-Ke :Okaeri (as in "we're back") it's pretty easy to figure out really.

l just want more of this show, l wanan see Chiaki doing something really cool again, Kana doing something stupid again, and Haruna doing something awesome again, there is so much for this show, and l wish they gave us more of it :]

oh boy mr ulcer waiting to happen, psyren replied. Yes ADB is screwy for a lot of stuff. I.e. Minami-ke only shows Okawari under related anime, nothing about Okaeri or the other OAV. If i check Okaeri it does then show Okawari and the OAV as releated, and like i said Myanimelist shows all of them but i wanted to double check

what a concept eh, double checking about the order for an anime and asking a couple questions about it in a topic about the anime? crazy that.

tnx for the answer on the names Havoc

so sounds like it does go Minami-ke > Minamike Okawari > Minami-ke Okaeri

wheres the Betsubara OAV fit in then, after the last one, Okaeri?

and what catgory would you guys say it fits in. Is it a straight comedy? A dramady? Slice of life? just curious.

Betsubara is sequel to Okaeri so yes that would be last.
So yes:

Minami-ke > Minami-ke Okawari > Minami-ke Okaeri > Minami-ke Betsubara.

I haven't actually seen this, (really want to though), but from what I gather its a slice of life, comedy.

This except I have watched it fully.
Its like Lucky Star, but less anime reference, but more of actual life references. Its very enjoyable and entertaining. Its slice of life and comedy period. At least that is how I see it.

I was actually going to ask that. From what I have seen of it, it seems to be Lucky Star without the anime themes in it and wanted to know if it was. So if it is then, that just confirmed it as my next download.  :D

Yeah its a lot and I mean A LOT like Lucky Star. Only part that is removed is the anime reference thats pretty much it. I enjoyed it a lot so =P.

@ kenshin-dono: click the word "Relations" that appears to the left of Sequel: Whatever, and you get this:

Although I do wish that fan translation groups would actually translate titles. There's no good reason those shows couldn't have been released as "Minami-Ke Seconds" and "Minami-Ke Welcome Home." Or even "Minami House ____" It would mean a lot less confusion for those whose Japanese skills aren't so great.

Minami-Ke compared to Lucky Star wins unconditionally, in an open war Lucky star loses to Minami-Ke wich these numbers of troops:

Lucky Star - 144 000 troops (no Yukimura Sanada present here so a lose is unconditional :D)

Minami -Ke -864 565 218 and a puppy :]

as you can see, no hope of win :D

and yes, it's Minami-Ke > Okawari > Okaeri > Betsubara

fully enjoyable show.

Minami-Ke truly beats Lucky Star not because of more troops, but because they have that one awesome guy who kept taking off his shirt.  He's a one-man comedy army.
