Lucky Star help!

So.... we all know the huge fanbase around this show.

I just watched the first episode and I'm a little confuzzled.
It does get more, you know... better.... right?

Give it a chance! The show is about the daily lives of four (at the start at least) girls, daily life ain't always interesting. I suggest watching episode 6 to see if that catches your fancy. If it doesn't then it probably won't interest you at all.

Slice-of-life anime is an acquired taste. Need to build up the palate for it ;)

If you don't like random conversations and little in-jokes, then Lucky Star might be a little difficult to stomach. It also helps if you can relate to some of the lifestyle options adopted by the characters.

Man, that chocolate coronet gets no fans. The first episode isn't that bad!

I watched the first episode on youtube a while back and thought "This is so freaking boring and just utter garbage. I will NEVER watch this series." Then my only anime friend started talking about it so I picked it up and started watching. I actually find it quite humorous and lively now. Everytime it comes to the end of an episode my roommate looks at me weird as I shout out "lucky Channel!" (in the Japanese way of course) ;D

I saw an april fools review of the series on anime-planet that cracked me up almost to the point of tears. Heres the link: http://www.anime-planet.com/forum/anime-reviews/22446-april-fools-reviews-2009-a.html

I like the slice of life genre, but lucky star is just overhyped, Azumanga wannabe

give this review a look http://www.spoonyexperiment.com/lucky-star/?cp=1#comments

then do yourself a favor and if you hav'nt seen Azumanga, them watch it, and don't let this fanboy hype lead you into thinking that Lucky Star is among the greatest animes ever, because it is'nt even close, in my opinon

*awaits the lych mob of fanboys, baying for his blood*

On the plus side, man all those chocolate coronet fans must have been over the moon!! lol and the icepop on a stick too, I totally understood that, eating it and not making it fall while not looking like a fool trying to catch it in your mouth is a task in itself.

I like slice of life and all but I admit that first time seeing lucky star I nearly stopped watching the show after the first episode, it just didn't work for me. But from second ep onwards it really started picking up and after couple of eps I was completely hooked. I just loved lucky channel.  ;D

Lucky Channel was probably the best part of the show. Other than that the rest was pretty decent.

I was pretty much the opposite, I disliked Lucky Channel but liked the actual show.

no
it wont get any better. . .if you dont know much about anime (at least 1 month of watched anime . . .i would guess) then dont try this at home. . .it will seriously be boring. . . A friend of mine could not believe there was a "plot-less" anime .. . and I showed him lucky star . . .he dropped it past episode 3

i think its one out the worse animes ive tryed personally, but like someone said...slice of life...hate it or love it -  nearly every anime i drop is a combination of school-slice of life though

not that i dont get whats going on, its just....crap  :-X
