What is Red going to eat for dinner tonight?

I'm actually going add another animal to my Animal variates that I have eaten list. It is my life goal to consume every animal possible, and I actually have 3 of those types in my fridge, but only one of them is for dinner tonight, and it is one I've never eaten before. So which one do you think it is? I'll tell all in 2 days.


To keep this thread relevant and topic worthy, what weird/uncommon types of animal have you eaten? The one I want to eat the most is Bear, but I've been having a hard time finding a good offering. Though, I think I may want to actually hunt and kill the bear with my own hands and then eat it. Manliest thing ever.

I was really close to eating turtle once... but they didn't find one... (A note... the turtles they hoped to offer us are endangered species... so... you can't get those "legally" unless you have connections)

That has been my entire semester. Other than Japanese and one other class, the rest are all only 4 tests online.

This topic reminded me of that guy who posted on the internet asking if someone wants to eat him after his death... And to my knowledge someone did eat him - I think he was even arrested afterwards even if it was an agreement valid on both sides...

On topic, no I haven't eaten any other animals yet other then domestic and or more common wild, they are just to expensive for my blood...

How specific are you going to get? Does eating a serving of Felis Catus cover the entire feline family, or are you going to have to track down a lion, tiger, puma, bobcat, etc. ad nauseum...

I also have Kangaroo and Alligator in the freezer. I'd really like some penguin though. I've already had zebra and alligator. I really liked alligator.

As for the camel, it was ok. Nothing special, a bit gamey. Tasted like beef, but a little chewier. Also smelled a bit like a camel.

The best way to cook alligator is fried in cornmeal batter.  A box of Jiffy works great, just throw in some extra seasonings.  Whatever you have laying around.  Creole seasonings seem to work well.  The texture is something between fish and chicken. 

I made some for a Sooners vs Gators game and everyone loved it.  I couldn't cook it fast enough.

thats why they dont let people shoot for those survival shows on discovery without a .50 cal rifle for polar bears

I've had alligator, once, fried as said above. Pretty good, nothing really special.

I've also had frog once. Been a long time though, and wasn't something I was anxious to experience again. I think I've had rabbit, squirrel, and raccoon... some of my relatives in georgia are pretty big on hunting. I say I think, because some of what I've eaten there didn't taste like chicken, beef, or venison, or each other for that matter, but I didn't really want to ask what was in what I was eating.
