I just finished the series. the main story is pretty good(I'm a sci-fi whore). There were too many filler-like materials though, I skipped at least 1/3 of the show. the climax felt flat and the ending was kinda abrupt but THERE WAS AN ELEGANT GIRL WITH LONG BLACK HAIR! that alone was enough for me give the series a thumbs up .
the sad ending seemed forced, I mean, isn't autopilot made exactly for that kind of situation?
Wasn't the autopilot broken when they first arrived, and that's why the accident happened? Tsubael has to pilot the ship herself everytime we see it move.

Hagino could have just transport the ship, set it to full speed ahead then eject the hell out of there. They probably thought this would make the show less predictable/normal.
Tatsu, you realize we have no idea how old Hagino actually is...
