Well..
(click to show/hide)It's not that I really dislike the ending itself but rather that
Light had throughout the series been calm and calculating
never losing his cool much. In the end though ? He's reduced
to a whiny emo bitch with no resemblance to what he has
been before. He could at the very least have kept a sliver
of his dignity.

yay spoilers! :P
(click to show/hide)He just saw his whole world, in which he was god unravel right in front of him, I don't think it was such a strange reaction especially given his narcissistic nature he most likely couldn't imagine any scenario that didn't have him ending at the top.

Xiong Chiamiov:
I thought the ending made perfect sense, since
(click to show/hide)it had been a few years since L's death.  He hadn't had any intellectual challenges for a long time; of course he was out of shape!
I disliked Mello quite a bit, mostly because his hair's retarded, and he takes effort to bit uneven pieces out of pre-blocked chocolate.

Ryuk's voice actor is much better in the English version, and Misa's slightly less annoying.  Other than that, meh.

SeventyX7:
Yeah, I have to admit, L was the driving antagonistic force on the show.  Near was just...I disliked him.  Is there anyone who watched the anime and liked Near that can defend his existence?   ???

Xiong Chiamiov:
Near was... awesome.  He plays with toys that are metaphors for the situation at hand.
