just watched Gunbuster then Diebuster, what an awsome pair of anime-goodness!
the most epic anime OVA/Movies i've ever seen that actually make sense!
not a single dry point in either of them, i only wish they couldve been a few episodes longer.
THE ONLY, ONLY ONLY thing that might throw someone off (especially in Gunbuster) is the concept of time.
(click to show/hide)In gunbuster first it was like 10 years, then 5 years, then 15 years, THEN 12,000 years!! HOLY SHIT!!! WHAT??! THE EARTH IS STILL THERE, WTF THEY REMEMBERED THE DAY THE ORIGINAL GUNBUSTERS SHOULD RETURN?!?!?! (which is why nono couldn't let the earth not be there anymore) which is completly and utterly ridiculous. great OVAs (and watch teh OVAs there juicy-er), great stories, lots of feeling, and stuff.
its too bad at the end of (click to show/hide)diebuster they dont show anyone with kids or Onee-chan/planet thrower meeting the original Gunbusters.IMO its a damn near perfect series itll still get a 9.999 from me. only short coming and this is barley barley a short coming is length. they shouldve done Hellsing ultimate style OVAs, 40 to 50 minutes of pure OVA-ness.
oh yeah and that thousands of year (click to show/hide)gap plot hole explaning just how nono even remembers the original busters
