OOOOOOOOH man cant wait, sitting on my porch my splendid 32gb cowon s9 awaits me in all its glory, sadly my noreve case wont be for another couple of days.

Now just to grab some sennheiser IE Headphones to go with it for like 60 bucks

By the way do you know if audio technica are decent? I think somewhere I read they were crappy... but I can't find it anymore. (I also have no idea which models to look up for review and the place I went to had a limited selection)

On the other hand... those Shure earbuds for about 800-900 USD makes me wonder where technology is going....

I really can't wait till the 32GB version hits the shelves over here. We're stuck with a meager 8GB and that's just not enough. Afaik, it's just packed as it is, ignoring the booklet and cdrom, but well, I haven't got one sitting on my porch

most of the REALLY expensive ones come with the company custom making it to fit your ear. On top of them sounding fucking amazing.

Where do you guys live that you dont have em yet, i know europe got em at least the UK did before the US.

@ psyren no it doesnt come with a case, check out on anythingbutipod.com the demo on glass screen vs plastic. The S9 rocks Gorilla Glass by i think its 3M for its screen covering. And they show how keys and knives and razors dont really damage a good glass screen(note they dont use an ipod i dunno why)

And you can get pretty cheap cases i stick with noreve since recently i bought one for my 32gig O2, and i really liked it. Their cases are quality built and at least for the S9 you can get a nice heavy duty metal clip

gorilla glass is made by corning, not 3M, google S9 screen testing, you will see some things that should probably never be done to a screen.

OK, after now having had it for a couple days, i must say.
I LOVE THIS FUCKING PLAYER.
Amazing sound, great battery life, was watching iron man on it, and showed it to some of my friends. All they could say was holy shit and fucking wow.
The clarity and color is simply amazing.
Also gorilla glass = win had fun trying to scratch the glass with car keys
and the followed holy shit the scratches just wipe off

Really don't want to spend $70 on a case... especially since the store I bought the S9 from didn't stock it, and offered free shipping for 3 items or more.

My current player (Creative Zen Vision M) is still being shielded in the felt bag it came in.

I guess I'll do some headphone research and go hunting tomorrow then. I'll probably just grab some earbuds for the time being.

The S9 only really needs a back case for drops and the like. The screen doesn't really need to be protected. However, a cleaner is a nice thing to have around the screen. Fingerprints show up quite quickly on that screen.

I actually decided on another pair of "ear muffs". It'll cost me about 130USD but it can be used on my XBOX360 as well. It seems like an interesting concept to try a high level of sound + headset (it retracts inside one side to being totally discreet at a certain point) it won't be the best of the best, but it's got a nice secondary function when I'm too busy to listen to music. (My bro will steal it for sure though)

I'll be ordering an S9 of my own in the coming days, glad to come here and see nothing but good things said about it. It really seemed to be the best player on the market for people that have music collections consisting of file formats not supported by many of the other players(I use ogg and flac primarily).
Can't wait to be able to listen to music away from the safety of my bulky thinkpad for once.
