Yozakura Shijuusou ~ Yozakura Quartet
« on: May 12, 2009, 12:18:40 AM »
One episode away from finishing this. And this series was such a waste. Did they not think about making it into a 24 or 26 episodes? Or did they feel like shoving everything around and about between the 13 episodes? Annoying ...

Thanks Chihiro, good subbing. =]

While I'm at this last episode, anything good I should hit? I still got time before I go to sleep. I want something ... entertaining or romance/drama. I should start updating my website soon ...

Short animes are okay if they plan it out well, but Yozakura Quartet was okayish, not really great, not really awful. Since its short, it misses out on few details i.e. the scar on ... whats-er-name neck.

I've been craving for action-packed anime lately and I finally decided to watch Baccano after having it downloaded for a long time, its so full of randomness which makes it fun :o crazed psychotic murders for the win!

(seems like half a recommendation thread :p)

Well, other than plot and storyline ... everything else was good.

I'm on Monochrome Factor ... ;[ the drawing style is somewhat ... bad.

Yozakura Quartet had nice characters(Kotoha is awesome!), pretty good character designs, and great slice of life parts. All that ruined by a godawful plot. Whenever it started being serious it started sucking.

the show wasnt terrible, but it definately wasnt good.

I personally dislike that character design but thats just me.
It just felt like they went nowhere with it, and well not much was accomplished the entire series

It would've been better as a straight slice of life + supernatural themed series with episodic plots.

Yes, yes. That was clearly a good way of pointing it out.

Apparently, there's going to be another adaptation.
I did enjoy the plot of the manga more then the anime, so it's pretty good news - and more Kotoha is ALWAYS welcome(oh, and by the way, if someone saw the anime more recently then me, is it stated at any point that she's a lesbian? I think I only read that in manga, but I might have forgotten.)
Curious thing about that new anime though, it's made partially by people with little experience: Ryoochimo Sawa only directed one episode of Hanamaru Yōchien so far, Yu Kobayashi has much more experience as a seyuu than a member of the staff, and Atsushi Suemitsu doesn't seem to have any experience composing background music. And for a second I though Tatsunoko Pro was a new studio as well - until my brain started working and I realized it's Tatsunoko Production. Why ANN lists it as a separate entity, I have no idea.

I really wonder if Chihiro is going to sub this or not. I mean, Chihiro pretty much only subbed the first season because I could use a ~ symbol in the filename. >.>

Maybe it's actually going to be good this time?
