Well, in the end, it's all about what works, isn't it? And anything can work wonders for anyone.

I recall having a lot of fun with the most butter sogged mashed potatoes (omg it was so smooth) and using it as a dip for regular flavored ruffles chips. DAMN it was good :)

Like I said... anything works.

Onion pie I can kind of understand. But personally, I don't like many salty and sweet mixes.

By the way, curry fishballs are great. Another good thing to add to curry. :)

And if you have a nice thick curry, if you have leftover sauce, it's quite tasty to slather it on a hotdog in a bun. Instead of ketchup and mustard... CURRY! :D

You can also put leftover curry in a mixer and use it as a dip for vegetables or cracker-like stuff

Hmm I gogled what prata is... because it's called different here (nan)... you can get it in almost every indian or pakistani restaurant around here... or if you prefer... I could make some as well :P
I prefer the variety with yeast though because I like it fluffy ^^

Yeah... prata is a slight evolution of a certain dish. Seems simple to make, but at the same time, you never know... But yeah, it's great for dipping in curry. :D

btw.: I'll try cooking a different kind of curry (indian style this time) today... with almonds and tomatoes.. I'll post the recipe if it turned out god ^^

[Edit] It really turned out delicious so here's what I used:

300g of beef (in small chops..like always)
2 small onions
1 red and 1 yellow paprika
2 Bananas
1 L of beef broth
2 tablespoons of curry powder
100g sliced almonds
about 3 tablespoons of tomato concentrate
the juice of half a lemon
some salt and some chilli powder (not too much though so it will stay slightly sweet)

preparation like before... chop everything into small pieces... onions and beef with some oil into the pot.. fry shortly, add the broth, spice and vegetables, simmer for 40-45 min, taste and maybe add some salt or curry powder...or whatever's missing for your taste
serve with Basmati rice that was cooked in salted water with some drops of lemon juice

I hate Indian food. I'm going to try the Curry Japanese today, only with sliced Chicken breasts this time.

Edit -- Praise to me! My first real time to cook something. I just finished it. It says the curry will thicken. I hope it does, I want it to look like how it does on the label and how it is in other pictures I've seen. I've always wanted something like this. Pray, pray.

Personally I like to use grated apple in my curry to give it a sweet flavor. Tho' I haven't ever made a japanese styled curry, specifically.

I've heard of that. But never tried it.

Apple chunks on the other hand I've tried in curry... but I wasn't the one who made it.

Dashi

It's just fish soup stock. You mix it with the miso soup when making to bring out the flavor, but I don't remember the order anymore.
