These are torrent comments from
Key Lossless Music Pack, placed here due to lengthiness.
Firstly, a note about incompleteness. I have told a few people about this torrent, and they are looking forward to it. I decide to upload it first and not keep them waiting since the ETA for the remaining missing albums are pretty long.
Doujin and fanworks were intentionally left out of this collection. I will offer the drama CDs in a separate pack once I've gotten most of them.
Missing albums:Kamio Sanchi (AIR-0004): One of the two bonus discs for the special edition Air Movie DVD. Missing from the internet (AFAIK). If you can find this, physically or in lossless format, the interwebs will exalt your name for generations.
Florescence & Flower Orgel de Kiku Sakuhin Shu (MACM-1167 Music Box Works): this is shipping from Play-Asia, they set the shipping date as May 23rd and shipping is free, so heaven knows when this will reach my doorstep. But when it does, you'll get FLAC rips, scans and a torrent swap.
Now that that's out of the way, I'm going to pre-empt some complaints.
Why a mega-huge Key Lossless torrent, instead of Air/Kanon/Clannad collections?
1) Which collection should I classify Kanon-Air Piano Arrange Re-feel under? (See next paragraph)
2) Browse the album info sheets and you'll see that the names Shinji Orito, Jun Maeda and Magome Togoshi pop up very often. If you like the music from one series, it is
very likely that you will like the music from the other series as well.
3) Descriptions for huge torrents are more fun to make.
4) Who doesn't want to see a Key lossless pack?
Why all albums in one folder? Believe me, I spent two whole days thinking about it before settling on this, and then another 2 days worrying about it, and now I just don't care amymore. Can't I split it by series, separating Air, Kanon and clannad? Sure, but where does that leave Kanon Air Piano Arrange ~Refeel~? Can I split them into OSTs, singles and others? Sure, but that's just as messy. The easiest way would just be to have everything in one huge parent folder, which also makes it easier to reseed.
I also apologise where albums do not come with scans, or come with low-quality scans. I didn't scan most of them, and I have tried to find scans where I can get them. If you have (better) scans for any of these albums, feel free to PM me and I'll add them in.
About the descriptionWhy so plain? Because
(1) I hate having messy javascript and too-many-divs in my descriptions
(2) I hate insane-filesize images in my descriptions
This description is 200kB (text+images) and should load within half a minute on a 56k connection. Even without displaying images, you still have to download 50kB of tracklists (the remaining 10kB of the HTML code being the main description). It uses javascript only to show/hide the tracklist boxes, and so should be light enough for just about anything you can browse the internet with.
"What's with the mascots?" Wut... Poteto is awesome, and Piro's just too cute. I would've put Botan there, but dangos were cuter.
I'm sorry I didn't manage to fit it all within a 1024x768 screen, but I do like the fancy header text and I'm not removing them. The other fonts are more sensible choices, I hope.
The first draft took 18 hours (try making tracklists for 29 albums), and after that about 12 more hours of tweaking spread over a month (vectoring Piro took about 2 hours). If someone wants this templated I'll try to find a way to do it, although I do wonder how useful this would be since there aren't that many music collections with this many albums xD
About distributionYes, I asked PFCorner to help with the initial seeding. Some people probably won't like this since it means they can't upload as much, but the alternative is waiting at least 4 days for me to seed this just once (my upload bandwidth is 0.25Mbps max). By the way their service is lovely, and I recommend checking out
their seedbox offer. They're helping to keep some of the older torrents well-seeded, and that is A Good Thing.
About tagging and incorrect namingI know my way of tagging is a little weird, but it is as complete as I can make it and I'm not changing it. You'll notice that some of the filenames have a dash between track number and track name. Those are the ones I downloaded from Boxtorrents or elsewhere, I chose not to rename them so people can help to seed from those albums. Otherwise, my default filenaming scheme is always [tracknumber] [trackname] (where re-encoded from APE/TTA). Genres were intentionally left out of the tags, since there is almost zero consistency when it comes to those things. Tag them whatever you like.
I got most of the tracklists in kanji, and with the help of kanji -> romaji translators and some discretion I converted most of them to romaji, using English in place of katakana were appropriate. Files have been renamed to be ASCII-compatible because some apps don't play nice with non-ASCII characters. If you don't like them, retag them yourself.
Some of them might be incorrectly named; if you see any incorrect filenames, please
post here and I'll have them fixed before I swap to include the Kanon Orgel Music Works album.
