Full Metal Panic!: The Second Raid (licensed by Kadokawa Pictures USA)

(1/1)

Dragon80:
I know how everyone love a good licensed anime. But i was wondering why this was never uploaded to the box. I did some google searches & found the following & i also added the link to the site where the info is from. It seems to be that only funimation has the rights to distributed the series & is licensed by Kadokawa Pictures USA. I know that the box likes to stay as far away from the fun. But my real question is would this be allowed to be uplaoded.

R1 license by Funimation

Note: Due to an odd arrangement with Japanese production company Kadokawa (who are attempting to get a larger percentage of the American sales), FUNimation's "license" deals only with promotion, authoring (meaning the subtitle fonts), and distribution of the DVD's. ADV was given the dubs and subtitles. Thus, FUNimation's normal subtitles with full use of honorifics will not appear in this release.

Hah, nice catch.  BxT even has other anime that Kadokawa Pictures has licensed already.

newy:
Maybe you should ask that here

I was wondering if this would be a series that fall into the hole & could be uploaded.

Zalis116:
FMP TSR was on Box for awhile, since it finished airing in October 2005 and the license wasn't announced until spring 2006. IIRC we had the Anime-Shrine TV-fansubs and later the KAA DVD-rips. (After several re-downloads, I wound up with the AonE&A-Kingdom release.) I guess that slight "not really licensed by Funimation" technicality does apply, but I think at the time, it was considered close enough to a Funimation title to take down. It's a "high-profile" show that Funi would be actively enforcing IP rights on, especially with a re-mastered DVD/Blu-Ray release coming up in August. Imo having FMP TSR on BxT is not worth the possible legal controversy with Funimation, ADV, and even Kadokawa, who have sent C&Ds to AnimeSuki and elsewhere for shows that aren't NA-licensed at all.
