Witch Hunter Robin

Well I couldn't find a thread on witch hunter robin. So yeah...

I just finished watching the series and definitely give it the thumbs up. It begins as a slow paced anime (to a certain extent it feels like mushi-shi) but you see great character development. But halfway through the series the pace picks up significantly as the plot begins to unravel. Unfortunately, character development is neglected somewhat in the later half of the series.

Nonetheless I really enjoyed the series.

For those who have watched it
(click to show/hide)Is the new hunter at the end meant to be robin?

HazukiChan:
I saw this series a long time ago, and I agree that is started off kind of dull, then it turns into a kind of "monster of the week anime"  which had the postive aspect of us learning about the various characters and their abilities. After  the history of the organization is revealed and the various plots, it becomes really interesting, then it ends rather abruptly.
And the characters are really stoic, particularly Robin who is especially non- emotional, but if your a fan of the supernatural it is still worth a look.
I loved the music, especially the OP and Ed.

(click to show/hide)Haven't seen it in a while but, I'm pretty sure the "new" hunter IS Robin.

I watched this series like 5 years ago, so I don't remember all the details. However, one thing I do remember is me thinking "mmm... this series is for amateurs..."

Now, I don't mean that as an insult, I just felt that it wasn't impressive for people who've watched a lot of anime.

You have:

* Teenage characters
* Everybody dressed in black
* Mysterious young boy and mysterious young girl, mysterious romance
* Computer prodigy skinny boy
* Supernatural stuff, fight the bad guys with powers
* Catchy opening and ending
I mean, this series should totally appeal to young teens that feel lonely and like to fantasize with the supernatural.
It's almost like Buffy: the Vampire Slayer (TV series, non-anime, for those who don't know).

I also think that it is a fairly "simple" anime in terms of special effects, drawings, plot and in general, all that Japanese stuff that characterize typical anime. For this reason, I remember thinking "If you are new to anime, you should watch this series as an introductory course."

I don't think it's a bad series, it's just not for me.

I think I agree with you, to be honest.  I remember I watched it way back when it was on adult swim, so I can't really remmeber much about it, other than it has the typical, "Badass silent character," Amon.
