I'm just throwing this out cause I know no-one else really understands... but, does anyone else get really emotionally connected with the characters and stories you're watching to the point that at the end of the series there is a real sense of loss and mourning: it's all over! Don't get to see any more of what happens in their lives and how their friendships/relationships continue.

I totally do! I just finished Toradora and I'm borderline blubbing during the last episode, especially when Taiga disappears! It was definitely that way with Honey & Clover too - I had to take a break cause I was so involved in it that I was blurring lines between reality and the show.

Does anyone else experience this? I know my wife thinks I'm crazy and I live in fantasy land.. but someone else identify with me... please!

Ahhh, a true romantic (otaku  ;)).  I understand your position.  Happens to me about the end of every series that I like. ::)  The end of Clannad AS nearly killed me since, to my mind, there was so much more that could be said.

Haha. I think you'll find that many of the people here feel the same was as you do. I almost always get connected to a character or two in a series (and if I can't, it typically sucks)... and hope things go their way, whether they be good or bad. Oftentimes what happens to that character determines how much I end up enjoying the series overall as well.

And yay for more Toradora! fans!

Sometimes I find myself crying at the end of long series just for the fact that I invested so much time into it and got to know the characters so well, and now it's ending. It's extremely difficult for me to immediately start watching another anime series after finishing one I really enjoyed because I feel like I just can't let the last one go. It's been about a week since I finished Toradora and I am still struggling to get into another series. Now I feel like a big nerd for getting so involved in anime, but I guess it's not like I have anything better to do.

Toradora is probably one of my all time favorite series... I almost didn't want to watch the last ep because I didn't want it to be over. My friends hate it when I watch deeper series like Toradora or Kanon since i tend to overanalyze them (psychology degree at work)... but after that tangent I do get emotionally attached to characters as well especially in the love stories since (and as a guy I will admit to this) I am kind of a hopless romantic

Still havent finished Honey and Clover... I can't bring myself to continue since I read a spoiler or two (bad me... I know).

Snuts: Contrary to popular belief I only save 98% of the ecchi pictures I find on the internet.
