Otogi Zoshi

I'm on episode 9. The art used is well done. It's like painted thoughts and water colored in most areas. Another thing is the seriousness of the characters, the appearance and balanced colors in their eyes. The characters also intend to go back to their past, items or whatever to search for hidden meanings or secrets or to understand things that were left behind from those that they care about. Episode 5 and 6 is another one I'll add with the secret rainbow path between the sea. I find that to be interesting.

Nothing less you can expect from Production I.G., I'll give it my final judgment once I finish the series. I needed something like Seirei no Moribito and this anime does live up to the expectations so far ...

I enjoyed Seirei no Moribito. I'll be sure to check this one out. Thanks.

I really liked the first half of the show when they were in the feudal times. It seemed to lose it's flare for me during the second half though...

Same for me. But overall good show! Love the OP of the first half.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Well, I just finished the first thirteen episodes, first season of course. The second season seems to be set 1,000 years after.

one more agree on that. The few times i've lent Otogi Zoushi out to people I only give them the first half and tell em the second isn't worth it.

Got back to the second half, on episode 17. I like the colorful watermarks they've implemented. It's a different direction in the second setting than the first setting. I've been playing SO1 and watching Seirei no Moribito (again).

As promised. I finished the series and from my point of view ... Season 1 is much, much better. There's a definite strong connection between characters in the first season and some outstanding artistic BG-renders. The seriousness was also another thing I want to note down and the aggressiveness from most characters. Each episode had a severe meaning to it that brings the watcher closer and closer to the story. I have to add another thing ... from the few minor characters that Hikaru and her party meets, there are those very small events that just looking beyond them is not only a mystery but digs a superb grave for the story and those minor characters; the poem on the stone, the rainbow road, the search for the other rubies (or whatever they called them in the series), the bond between Hikaru and her brother as well as Tsuma as well as Tsuma and Urabe and via versa. Tho' Kintarou and Sa-whatever weren't deeply involved with the stories, or tho' from what I thought.

As for the second part, they drifted off and the story or the episodes were not as continues as it was nor it was as serious as the first season was. This was the critical part that was missing besides the fucking retarded ending (yes, I hated it). Season 1's ending is much better. Tho' I have to say episodes 25 was good and 26 is even better for the second season. 2nd season was all fillers, there was that connection from Season 1 but well ... ;/

I'll definitely dig Season 1 again sometime this winter.
