Chrome Shelled Regios
« on: May 30, 2009, 05:21:41 AM »
I've just picked this up, and after two pretty intense episodes, I'm liking what I see. Effects are pretty nice, general artwork is interesting, characters are mostly stock, but useable. Concept-wise, I don't really care at this point, all I know is that they've got a damn catchy battle theme and some nice action. (Okay, I generally get what's going on, whatever it is just hasn't captured my focus with all the glowing people flying around.) Seems like a keeper to me.

I have seen all the episodes that are out now. Show isnt bad. Story moves kinda slow but I still like it.

I watch YuS' subs that's why I am a bit behind (ep13). What I'm most interested in are the scenes with those VA talking English. What's the connection between this and the actual plot...

Besides that it's a good show

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

It is a good show, Just a little out there.  Sometimes things just don't make since the way they happen, and why they happen.  And i think Layfon Alseif is a bit selft distructive.  But that's my own opinion.

I'm watching the Ayako version, and it is pretty good.  YuS is probably more accorate, but this is not a show i'm going to probably watch again, unless there is an S2.  Which would be suprising to me.
I have typed these words and you have been forced to read them.  Now you can go cry in the corner if you like :)

The first couple of episodes really hyped it up and made it seem promising. I was hoping there would be a lot more of the same catchy battle themed fight scenes just like in the first episode, but it seemed to turn more melodramatic than action oriented as the show went on though, which is kind of disappointing. Still a decent show though.

i didnt think the battle theme in ep 1 was catchy nor appealing. it was kind of tacky initial d style.

It would really help if you can switch the main title to the Japanese title, Koukaku no Regios. Just saying >_>;;

As for this anime, ... I think I stated I'm watching it with Canas? I'm also in love with the opening song theme. She wanted to skip it, I was like ... "uh .. no!".

Started watching this with Tatsujin haha. Anyway, I love the action, I like several of the characters, the story so far hasn't been there. But we're only on episode 12. It's based off a light novel series so it should have some depth in it.

I really enjoyed the show, but yes the story tended to move a little slow till you got closer to the end then it ramped up a bit. I think the next season is going to be much more in depth and move a lot faster.

It was decent show and worth watching imo.

(MINOR SPOILER):
(click to show/hide)

Is there some confirmation about the second season or is it just guessing?

I heard that there is a big cliffhanger at the end of the season, so you can expect it to have a second season for sure. This anime should be rather doing well in Japan and outside of Japan as well considering the music, the art, the action, animation, motion, character development and of course ... we can NEVER forget about the Fanservice! Everytime Nina's body shows up I stumble and Canas laughs at me. Ohhh, Nina! -sniffs-

The characters were quite decent (Felli was awesome, she needed more screen time), but the plot was pretty lacking, and even the action got repetitive. I'm a sucker for large scale battles, but the bits of inter-city matches they showed were lackluster, and overall the show was mediocre.

Also, the irregular releases of the HD versions made it annoying to watch. At one point I had to rip Ayako's (hard)subs myself, which was quite a chore.

Yeah the quality of the sub was one of the reasons I didn't enjoy it too much. Watching through the series in a crappy quality was a turn of....but Felli was still cute!

Taka fansubs is the sub of choice for this show, imo.
