Toshokan sensou (Library War)
LiquidZero:
Just finished watching it(didnt see the OVA yet!). Good show! a bit different from your Comedy/Action/Romance/War anime!
The first thing that stood out to me in this show was the animation style. it was very well done! the characters were very well drawn. At times they would have heavier outlines which made the show look even cooler.
The Story is pretty good its basically Fahrenheit 451, and for those of you who haven't read it its about censorship of books on a "burn the ones that are offensive" scale. WHICH MAKES FOR A GOOD ANIME!
It was very light hearted and cheery the whole way through which was nice.
The characters were pretty well done too. Though the main character when i first saw her kinda looked like a feminine boy (in the opening it starts off with her crying) and i was thinking "what the hell" "this shit might be whack, the male lead is gonna cry all the time?!" then i realized it was just a girl which made it okay. The romance aspect of the story is also quite nice. though i wish'd they would have elaborated on it more. instead of leaving some things (click to show/hide)Tezuka XX Shibazaki up in the air. it feels like it could get a good 2nd season, about maybe (click to show/hide)Tezuka's brother and what he plans to do, seeing as how there wasn't really a Main antagonist otherwise I RECOMMEND THIS ANIME!

The anime is based on a light novel series and yeah it has similarities to Fahrenheit 451. I think the series never had a real end but it's been a while since I watched it so I can be wrong. I think a 2nd season would be nice if the series hasn't covered all novels.
quekmeister:
The series only covered the first novel IIRC, similar to Seirei no Moribito. Production I.G. being careful, I guess. I liked it quite a bit, very tastefully done urban fighting. The basic premise of the show was a little silly at times, though. Libraries having what's essentially a full militia with helo support and sniper rifles etc., while the police have... SMGs, and that's about it. :)
HazukiChan:
I enjoyed this alot, and wish they would produce more. I really liked the story line, it was something new that I hadn't seen before.
Solren:
I just started watching this show. I haven't finished the whole series yet, but was anyone else bothered by
(click to show/hide) that bit in episode 3 with the reporter? I mean, the whole show is about libraries fighting censorship, and then the military wing of the library forces this reporter to delete an embarrassing picture their new task force member? I know a few photo journalists who would've been up in arms over that. Not only is it censorship (irony, anyone?), but it's also illegal.
Other than that I don't see this showing turning out to be anything too special. All of the lead characters are pretty much flawless except for relatively minor personality quirks, which leaves little room for character development. Since memorable characters are pretty much the top reason I watch any show (anime or otherwise), this one isn't gonna rank too high for me, but it's ok.
