Beyond The Clouds - The Promised Place

Watched this recently (720p Blu-Ray Quality!) and was in awe of the animation and sound!

Good movie! The movie is about an alternate time where Japan is divided into north(Soviet Union) and South(Allies/America), where these childhood friends do what ever they can to reach this tower. Though it's a little soft and the story's a little crazy. it feels like there could have been more to it.
Also the movie is a good 1 hr, 24 min. (minues credits) and they brought it down to the wire during the ending.
the romance in the movie fell a little short IMO (soft)

when the girl woke-up after saying she wants to let him know how much she loves him and the bond they shared etc. etc. i know if i loved somebody that much and we just got out of a situation like that i would have done more then just touched her face or cried on his back...

thats just me though. Still a good movie! could have given you a little incite to what happens next

his friend fell in love with the female scientist, not to mention war just started...

, but thats all. Oh yeah and it's almost like the "War" aspect in the movie isn't acknowledged as much as maybe it should of been. i recommend this for a good soft romance movie.

It's been awhile since I've seen it, but isn't the deal that she forgets everything from her dream when she wakes up?

I's been a while since I've seen it but I remember it moving very slowly.
I thought it was a beautiful movie but my gf fell asleep while watching it, and that distracts from the experience.

I remember going apeshit because I couldn't find this anime. It was under a different name and for some odd reason I couldn't find it under the second name.

It was an interesting movie though, but mainly dialogue. I really think more could have been done, but that's just me. It was still a good movie though.
