The Gran Turismo games are almost as flawless as driving games can be imho.
Nothing compares.

In fact I'm going to pre-order GT5 right now just to make a point.

Lmao -- http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/05/turn-10-on-forza-3-no-game-competes-with-us/

What do you guys think?!
wow, that's almost as bad as peter molyneux talking about fable.  Forza isn't a bad game as far as realism goes, but Gran Turismo will forever be better, dunno if anyone else played the GT prologue, but I've never played anything with that amount of realism.  I'd say forza 2's realism is about par with GT3, not to mention I've played all of both and GT is more fun to play.  Although speed devils for dreamcast is the best racer ever.

The Gran Turismo series defines excellence in dominating a genre with the highest quality product....anybody who's played one knows that.  This is just a marketing tactic to help boost sales, nothing more.

I hated the early forza games so much. I was like... meh, let's play the forza racing game demo on the xbox 360.

THE DAMN CARS LIKE TO SLIDE IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND NOT TURN GOING 40KMPH IN A FORMULA 1 CAR. After 10 tries and sliding in a straight line even while going 20kmph, I was like "fuck this game". I'd rather play Gotham racing or w/e that game was instead of Forza.

Also, after reading that article, what kind of retard thinks are car is "uber" because it was "uber" in a racing game? It's like a retard thinking his cappucino will kick the ass of any evo in the rain.

I'd have to agree as well with whats already been said, GT > Forza. Yea Forza2 for xbox360 was a really good game but it just didn't have what it takes to top off GT.

Gran Turismo all the way. GT is one of the reasons I purchased a PS3 instead of an X360. (That and RROD).

Forza pissed me off almost in the same way as the first need for speed released on the xbox 360. Those fucking stupid objectives where you have to have a police chase for like 40 mins... fucking idiotic.

Forza being realistic... it was like some idiot thought it would be a great idea to program the game to handle as if you were a ricer retard with the e-brake on all the fucking time.

as much as i love my 360 i have to go with Gran Turismo best racing sims ever. Forza 2 was solid y'know but playing Gran Turismo made me feel like i was driving foreal...like i could fly...like drifting off on 2 square miles of tar..like running really fast for a few split seconds... like falling at high speeds only to slow down and catch myself right before hitting the ground...etc. etc.

Forza felt more arcady, like all the bullshit (green lines, having to brake 85% of the time) makes it hard to drift off into the world of driving.
tatsujin thx!!( for nothin! ) thanks Sebur for the SIG!

You mean obtaining the drivers licences? Those are easy. I remember in Gran Turismo 3, I managed to get all gold on all but one. I was so pissed. I did that one over and over and over all day, and was always .001-.002 seconds too slow.  >:(

The first thing I noticed about Forza was a very simple thing:

God damn this shit is harder

Why? Because the xbox controller was wonky in my hands compared to a sleek PS2 controller for starters. On top of that, I had total control over how much gas or brake was used instead of just the standard button. I could control acceleration/decleration once I got the timing of it down. The problem was/is, quite frankly, it's too large a learning curve from a GT enthusiast.

I grew up on Gran Turismo 2, didn't really play 1. I thought GT3 was good and all, but 2 has always been the ultimate racing game to me. The car selection was massive and the driving style realistic (for its time). 2 still remains one of the best games I ever remember playing. I devoted SOOO much time to it and I still remember the shitty car I made a beast:

Mitsubishi Eclipse RST baby. Candy Apple Red with all the bells and whistles the game had available.

Now I see what Forza 3's trying to do and I appreciate it. I've been hearing about GT5 for so long now that I've started to mute it out thinking the game will never come. I've seen screenshots and heard about the prologue and all that good stuff, but where's the meat? Where's the release date? Where's the approximate release date? At E3 2007 they called for a 2008 release date, half way through 2009 there's nothing new to be reported. If you traveled to IGN right now and looked at the release date, it's TBA 2009. Forza, on the other hand, is noted as October, 2009.

Now don't get me wrong, some things are worth the wait and I believe GT5 will be one of those things. But it's been YEARS in development now and nothing is solid. The Forza line improved drastically from 1 to 2 and I expect the same out of 3. I like the concept of having a very easy mode with full automated braking so you can just press the gas and go around the track. My 6 year old nephew will have a blast with the game just like I will with all the easy features turned off. It's just as easy for him to have a career profile and avatar as it is for me to. That's appealing to me. I also like how you can make the AI drivers "sweat" with the new pressure feature. Driving aggressively will finally pay off in a game.

So, I'll take Forza because I know it's coming. I'll probably be driving around circuits and unlocking achievements while you guys are talking about how badass GT5 is going to be. And by driving around circuits and unlocking achievements, I mean on Forza 4.

It's not me - it's you.

.....check this shit out

I had no idea GT5 would be doing NASCAR(though I'm certainly no fan of it)...but that's a big license there.  The game looks sick as hell also :).  I have a feeling the game is gonna be absolutely enormous as well in terms on content.

Why anyone would think it's fun to watch cars go round in a circle is beyond me.

Generally, the last 5-15 laps are actually alot of fun to watch the front-runners duke it out. Other than that it's just an organized party.

I think licensing issues are the biggest problem and setback for GT5. No company wants their cars to get damaged in a game.

Not anymore.  Car companies need as much advertising they can get right now.....and this a cheap way to do it.

lmao! ... sorry. ;[

Edit -- Here you go, with Microsoft trying to bribe people to vote for Forza 3 by giving them gifts. Read the comment under the paragraph and well, even with their bribes they couldn't win against GT5. Check out the trailers ...
