Le Chevalier D'Eon

Yes, yes. The beginning will pretty much tell you how most of the anime is going to be, start but doesn't tell you how it will proceed and the events, the turn arounds, twists and for the fact the major mysteries behind the oh ... how many questions would sprinkle to them and you? Lia was the character, the reason I kept watching the series and then it expanded to like 5 and 6 other different characters. Very deep story, you could easily get lost if you don't pay attention. The action is top-notch, almost as good as Seirei no Moribito (producers for both series are I.G. Production). But just the story and characters ... :: Two thumbs up :: Episode 20 and going.

I really enjoyed this one.  It has a lot of things going for it.  A little SciFi, and Little Historic, a Little Action, a little Politics, and just the right amount of glue to keep it all working together nicely.

I'll probably watch it again, I bought it last year, and it is really worth a re-watch.  I found it was better if i watched it 2-3 episodes at a time instead of in one clean shot.  Held my attention more.

Yes, yes! That's what I did and I enjoyed it much better like that. The series had many gifts and many surprises. It is definitely not for the weak heart and as Le Chevalier d'Eon is history meets fantasy like Jeanne d'Arc (PSP). Even tho' they twist partials of the real stories, they still turn out to be great. Japanese people are smart. I envy them.

I finished it just an hour ago and I was thinking to myself that I want to watch it again ... It was somewhat confusing in the beginning, just a little bit but it unfolds with each episode and there are so many different events, places ... so many things happening. I am definitely going to watch this again in the future. Great series. 5/5 from me. Lia, Robert, d'Eon, Maximilien,  Tei-whatever and Durand were great characters. Also, that fat man and the super erotic big boob chick as well ... I'd so do her without a second thought. -laughs-

Edit -- I'm gonna add few more things. The ending song theme is a big plus. I like it. Another is for those who might get confused with d'Eon... he DID exist in real life. Be sure to read about him in Wikipedia and I suggest to do so as soon as possible and before you go half way through the series to kill any confusion you may get. There are no spoilers in there as the anime is history + fantasy so it is altered a bit.

My other thing is ...

(click to show/hide)Durand's death. Lia was seconds away from saving his soul but Maximilien interfered and led Durand's death ... was it because he was jealous of him? Or because he knew that Durand was suffering for being disloyal to the King and couldn't choose the death of his friends or his loyalty to the King? I didn't understand the connection between Durand and Lia, also Durand and Maximilien ...
