I spoiled you? Sorry. For new eps I usually mask my spoilers, but for for things that have been out for while I sometimes don't. It doesn't help that this is basically a thread for all Fate stuff, am I right, Tatsujin? So it's possible that spoilers from the Heaven's Feel are right around the corner. Just like I don't expect spoilers from further arcs of Sword Art Online in the anime thread.
No, it helps to keep things in one thread rather than having shit loads of threads laying around - regardless of different seasons/series. The series from Fate/Zero to Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Hallow Ataraxia are all connected, and it goes to UBW and Heaven's Feel arcs. I don't know what Kritsugu's wish is, but you can tell that his daughter and wife were not human when he touched the Grail and he was the first person (at least from the Fourth Grail War).
Have you played the entire visual novel, Takeshi? All 5 arcs plus the Final Episode? If not, then you want to hit the VN. It gives a more critical in-depth on each character, stories and so on including the minor characters like Lancer. The awesome part about all this, they're all in-tact - nothing's been changed or shifted. Fate/Zero is a single arc, there is no other routes about it. Fate/Stay Night has 5 arcs (3, to be exact since Fate arc is only 1, UBW is 2, and Heaven's Feel is 2) and a Final Episode given to those who complete all arcs and its pretty damn satisfying. Fate/Ataraxia wasn't as good as I've read, it's just a complete fan-service but it still connects.
When you watch a series, then they release a sequel or prequel and you NOTICE there are missing parts, holes or flaws and they don't explain it or complete what they missed out, how would you feel about that? Fate series doesn't do that. If you've only watched the TV series then obviously you're missing out on a whole bunch of things that's been explained thoroughly in the VN. Fate/Zero
completes questions in the VN and follows on-track with everything that I've read in the VN, the minor parts that talk about the past.
Saber's relationship with Kiritsugu was weird to begin with, she never understood him yet she had to follow him. She had her oath, too. Kiritsugu didn't know what the Holy Grail was really all about. The Holy Grail is NOT explained properly in Fate/Zero or in Fate/Stay Night TV series, in fact, they just
can't explain it without a more in-depth to it like they did in the VN. The VN forces you to go through Fate arc, then UBW, then Heaven's Feel. And through each arc, you get to see a lot of things that you had questions on in the previous arc and it explains the Holy Grail much better.
