Finally, my fav arc of whole fate series gets a showdown. Hopefully it will on the same quality or even better than Fate/Zero. Do hope for a series rather than a movie though.

Let it be a 26 episode from ufotable. I so love their amazing fluid animations. The colors and backgrounds as well. <3! I can't, can't can't ... cannot wait to see Saber Alter and Shirou in his bad ass form. BRING IT!

It took me half an year and 49 hours of playtime but i finally did it. I completed the original visual novel, all the tiger stamps, 100% CGs and, of course, the final episode.

I'm at a loss of words, really. Objectively thinking the story isn't maybe a masterpiece, but who cares when it's this enjoyable! The endless plot twists, the amount of insight into every character's past and future, the different endings and the amount of manliness by Archer and Shirou were just full of awesomeness. Each route had its own atmosphere, feeling almost like a different story. Yes, there were downsides also, but like in Ever17, the entirety was totally worth playing. In the end, the story left us with almost no loose ends and everything finally made sense. The final episode felt maybe a bit forced, but I'd like to think about it as a nice dream, or maybe afterlife for the two involved.

Also, one more piece of positive news for me: I can finally watch Fate/Zero which I was having on hold in the fear of spoilers. I've heard it's a pretty good series so this should be fun!

Btw, while you're at it, go play Muv-Luv series. Start with the first game, Muv-Luv EXTRA and UNLIMITED then go Muv-Luv Alternative. This game is the highest ranked VN at the moment and bests Fate series.

Lets see.

The final episode ultimately succeeds in what I think was it's actual purpose instead of simply catering to Saber fans. And that is giving the player/reader a final feeling that the story, at last, is over. I can't really explain it much better but that's what I felt after playing through it. Saber and shirou may finally rest from all their battles, and what even better, they are united in afterlife, being together forever.

It's such a romantic ending although I must say it's not very believeable. After all, why would Shirou end up in Avalon (I think that was the name of the place king Arthur went after her death) when he died? But this is just nitpicking. Do we really need a valid reason for them to be together in the end? I think it's a typical power of love -ending which actually fits quite well, so i'm not really complaining.

Also, the beginning of the final episode was great, showcasing the best moments of Saber and Shirou during the main storyline. Most of the best CGs were also there so bonus points for that.

Oh, and one more thing to add. Kotomine Kirei is one badass guy. Heaven's feel made me actually like him. He might be on the opposing side but that's because he stands for his ideals. After Fate I hated the guy but looks like things can change. 

As for Muv-Luv, I've been put back by some reviews saying "Muv-Luv Extra is standard harem." and "Muv-Luv Unlimited introduces a new plot (...) it is also just as generic as Extra's". I'm not really interested in harem VNs as I value the plot more. Yes, I've heard Alternative is really good but I dont know if it's worth playing the previous ones if they aren't that good. Especially when my studies have started again and i'm a bit short on time.

Yes. It is worth the trouble. Play Muv Luv Extra which is harem. Beat Sumika and Meiya routes to unlock Unlimited then beat Meiya's route. After that, play Alternative game. It is worth it. If you want to skip Extra and Unlimited then in the Alternative game there is a notepad giving you a brief summary of the main important things so your not lost in alternative ... Which I did and I regret that decision. But I will tell you this, it is one VN you do not want to miss out on. Type Moon and Key games are not even close to this epic game.

But that's not just a normal review, froody. From what I've read, that person did not read the light novel nor they played the game yet he QUESTIONS the concept of where these questions are already answered. Fate/Zero is made for fans who understand the series. He doesn't understand it. Just go look at the rating on this thing and read other more suitable reviews about the series. Not some below-half-assed review. If you're going to sit there and claim, "well it's only the first 13 episodes and he does have points about what he said." Then you can say the same exact thing about all of Type-Moon's works and their characters.

Not getting into the quality of the review, not interested in reading such things, being a huge lover of the TYPE-MOON animes but not interested in VN, I do think one is entitled to have an opinion on them as stand-alone animes. So I reserve my rights to adore them

This is not a good thing in any form of media. Dependency on previous installations of a franchise is usually considered a bad thing. It should have ideally been able to stand by itself.

Well see that's what I'm saying, he didn't just criticize, he actually explained why he doesn't like it. I don't think that's 'random stupid shit' or lacking insight. Or does anything that you can't agree with automatically become nonsense?
Oh and ANN is a fansite (like other english anime sites), not official.

Everything fate-related except Hollow Ataraxia and the Ilya spinoff crap.

To clarify: I don't agree with that guy because I mostly liked the anime. I'm just amazed by the reaction people have to this review and I think it's a bad reflection on the anime community.

^ Ah you are right about the fan site statement.

My problem with what he said contradicts with how you should be reviewing a series. Now if Fate/Zero was the VERY BEGINNING of the whole Fate series then I can't argue with that. But Fate/Zero came after the release of Fate/Stay Night. It's also based on the light novel.

I'll give you two examples of what he speaks about and I see him casting sarcasm or not sufficient enough of information:

One is how he speaks about large heroes and heroines appearing - all about kings and queens - those who conquer and be conquered. There's a specific reason, special features that the Holy Grail applies to these certain rules. One, the Holy Grail is not going to summon some low-class hero/heroine to fight other heroes. Two, the Holy Grail is attracted to those who have a high level of regret towards something. Usually, the bigger the hero - spoken about, written about, achievements and failures, the higher the chances of them being summoned. This was explained thoroughly in the game. So for someone to come about and speak with ignorance like and posts it as a review. Seriously? That's just wrong. That shouldn't even be a review at all.

Two, Kiritsugu and Kirei trying to outthink each other—falls flat. The two characters are too alike, both playing the "silent tough guy" role, and their dreary gray-and-brown personalities make it hard to enjoy the conflict. As stated by the poster, has once again no clue what he's talking about. He has no idea who these characters are. Rather, Kirei is never explained to the full extent - possibly if I have to rate it, maybe 5%ish or so you would get to know a little about him. Specially about the part with his wife. Kirei's personality and behavior is more explained in UTW and especially Heaven's Feel arcs. Kiritsugu on the other hand has his story explained in the second half of Fate/Zero - at least his past, but not his achievements and certain parts of his life only are available in the game.

So the review, in all, is filled with a lot of ignorance. I get that he is reviewing only the first 13 episodes of Fate/Zero. But this is either 1. biased or 2. this guy is ignorant and didn't explain things thoroughly as they should. These guys, most of them, are getting paid to do this. This isn't fan for fan site where you don't get paid at all. If I were to pull a fan-review about Fate/Zero they'll do a hell of a better job on it. Let's see ... Random Curiosity. Pretty popular, and they go in-depth per episode.

The new Fate/Stay Night will adventure in the next generation which is the Fifth Holy Grail War. This is without a doubt Heaven's Feel arc. First half of the teaser video reveals scenes from Fate/Zero as the second half is completely new scenes, animation and jaw-dropping graphics. Everything you know about Fate/Stay Night animation needs to get wiped or you'll scream pretty hard while watching the second half of the 3 minute teaser.

Link. Also, the full reveal will be on January 30th of 2014 - a whole decade from when Fate/Stay Night VN was released on January 30th of 2004.
