Well, I am back from the StarEast conference in Orlando. 99.99% sure I passed my test, which will mean I get a certificate and get to put "CTFL" (Certified Tester, Foundation Level) after my name on the business cards I don't have (yet). I should find out for sure as early as next week. This will be my first certification, so I'm pretty happy about that. Will be a good thing to have on my resume, too.
Hooray, I passed! Found out this afternoon. And I only missed one question out of 40, pretty good. Was also the first one done with the exam. Not bad for a geezer who hasn't taken any other exams in 15+ years. Although in truth I don't think the exam was very difficult if you actually studied for it and know something about software testing.
The 'Advanced' certifications (there are 3) sound like they will be quite a bit tougher. Hopefully my company will pay for one of those next year and I'll get a shot.
