I find ocean kayaks a lot more fulfilling to be honest surdumil, but nice!

Where in Saskatchewan are you going to possibly kayak though?

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

Hmm... This is going to look dreamy and starry-eyed 'cause reality hasn't hit yet.

I'm hoping to start out in the nearby lakes.  Around Saskatoon they're mostly oxbows left by the South Saskatchewan River.

Then I hope to progress to the South Saskatchwan River north and south of the city (maybe pick up and plant some geocaches) and maybe the Qu'appelle Valley lakes, Last Mountain Lake.

When there's ample time, I'd like to try some shield lakes up north, north of La Ronge.  There are hundreds easily accessible up there, thousands not so accessible.

Eventually I want to go west to the rivers and lakes in Alberta in the badlands near Drumheller, the rivers and lakes around Calgary and Edmonton, and the Okanogan lakes in B.C.

No rapids in mind at this point.  It's just not the right boat for that.
Geez, I guess this will take years!  :)

Just remembered to buy lemons b4 easter. No lemons no BBQ. >.<
At first I was wondering why you'd need lemons for a barbecue, but then I realised you must be talking about the combustible ones. Just be careful not to accidentally burn your house down.

noooooo.... real yellow lemons.  ;D Actually two lemons and a few lime. Is for a marinade recipe from Indonesia.

Burk doesn't sneak a beef bowl now and then, he is the consummate carnivore?

You know, I tried beef bowl when I visited Tokyo, and I must say, it doesn't live up to the hype.  I think it was the Japanese equivalent of eating at McDonalds.

Beef is just less common there than here.

Oh surely.  I think just the quality was lacking.  Kind of like it does at McDonalds here.

I can't remember for sure, it was 3 years ago.  I don't think it was a lot, under 1000 yen for sure, maybe closer to 600.  I dunno.  I definitely had the impression it was the Japanese equivalent of fast food.

I do distinctly remember that there was a container of fresh spicy red ginger on the countertop, because I'd never tasted spicy ginger before and it surprised me.

Hmm. At that price it wouldn't seem the beef would be much.

From what I've seen, it's pretty cheap in Japan.
Here is the menu at McDonalds, where everything is about 30% cheaper than in Sweden at today's exchange rate:

Looks like Yens.
Fuck learning the exchange rate. That's not relevant to my degree.

After scrimping and saving for several winter months and dreaming about lakes and rivers, I've finally bought a kayak, paddle, sport rack and J-carrier.  It's a mango Pungo 120 recreational kayak and a red H2O Crystal-X paddle.  Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

I've found that I can't get it into the basement due to the geometry of the main floor of the house (Doh!), so I think I'll suspend it in the living-room.  It's a beauty!

Now I just need to buy the mandatory gear to go with it, wait for several feet of snow to melt, wait for spring run-off to complete, and wait for the water to warm up sufficiently.
Since your kayak doesn't include a keel, no need to wait for the snow to melt, it makes for a heck of a sledge.  ;D

Because we can!

Blew off a full whole can of compressed air in one session.
Which is weird as I usually make it last at least four.
