USER QUESTIONNAIRE: BxT1. What is your back story? How did you get into anime?- Loved watching DBZ as a child, didn't realize it was anime, started learning Japanese in highschool, saw 'Bleach' on Adult Swim, have been hooked ever since.
2. Why do you use BxT? What do you like about it? (as a standalone community, but also – what do you like about it better than using alternative sites to obtain torrents?)- Everything has strict rules on BoxT. This can be hard at times and even a bit scary, but it also means you get top-of-the-line anime with the best quality. When you make a download here, you can be confident that you are getting a certain video quality, sound quality, and sub quality according to what is written in the Torrent description. Almost all other sites refuse to give all the specs, and you are often left to guess if you will be getting a piece of garbage video taped from a television with fake subs, a great anime, or a virus. The users on BoxT are always active and commenting about everything so anything not mentioned, or stated incorrectly in descriptions are usually talked about in the comment section. This means there is NEVER a question in your mind about what you are getting here.
3. What are your feelings concerning the online community of BxT?- Well, there are all sorts of users that come to this site. Probably about half of them are scared away or just banned for being idiots. 40% of the community enjoys flaming those idiots in comments and on the forums. 5% of the users are just having themselves a good time, and the remaining 5% are lurking in the shadows on the site while sitting in a dark basement yelling at their mothers to make them dinner

. Overall the community that sticks around, doesn't lurk, and keeps the flaming only to the complete idiots are pretty cool and fun to talk with.
4. What is your personal view of the fact that BxT operates simultaneously as a public and private tracker?- So many people don't realize that they even are a public tracker. They come, assume they need to register, then wonder why they get into trouble for leeching like madmen (never reading the wiki or glancing over at the "BoxT is a public tracker" that is written on the main page). Honestly, if you are here just to leech a few anime then take off then don't bother registering.
- I sort of wish that BoxT was specifically a private tracker, but as much as people seed the torrents on BoxT, if the random non-registered leechers disappeared we might never be able to hit the ratios we want/need.
5. Would you still use BxT if it was a either: a paid service, or the site contained ads?- I don't care about ads as long as the site was still trusted and respectable. I probably would never have even tried BoxT if it were a pay site. Having used the site for so long now, if I had the funds I would probably pay a membership fee or whatever since it is so convenient and reliable; however, I don't really download enough to justify paying money every month just to write things people will never read in the forums.
6. Have you donated to BxT? Would you donate if you could? Would/Do you choose to donate your time to helping build the community of BxT as a way to contribute instead, if you don’t have the financial means to donate?- I have donated $100 to date. Mostly I just needed the upload bonus at the time after being unable to seed in a dorm room for a year. I don't download enough to be able to offer anything to BoxT as an upload or to adopt anything that I own that someone else hasn't already nabbed. I do try to answer questions in Torrent comments and the forums as much as possible, but this is just because I have too much time and nothing to do with it. If I wasn't having some financial troubles right now I would probably be donating some more just to support the site.
7. To Adopters of torrents – What motivated you to do this?[N/A]
8. If BxT were to disappear, how would that make you feel? What would you do to replace the service and community that you lost?- Well, my downloading would come to an abrupt halt, but my internet would run a lot faster without the nonstop, all day every day seeding. I would probably just latch on to another anime site. It wouldn't be as good and I would always get a tear in my eye when remembering how awesome BoxT was, but losing this site would not cause me to emotionally break down, repent for ever downloading, and swear off technology and anime forever.
9. How do you feel about Crunchyroll? If you are familiar with Crunchyroll’s draconian Terms of Service in relation to user donated subtitling services, what are your thoughts on that?- Never used it. Not sure how it works exactly, I assume something like youtube for anime specifically, but watching anime through services like this you always end up with lower quality everything, questionable subs, a lot of downloading time every time you want to watch an episode of something, and you lose the ability to work with the video in your own video or picture editors. The biggest thing for me is the loading times. When I am in the mood to watch some anime, I want to be able to click and have it playing flawlessly on my screen. With things like crunchyroll, when you are in the mood to watch an episode you have to click and either hope your internet is fast enough to keep up with the video or deal with buffering times. I like the idea of the actual American anime licensing companies starting to play their anime online for free and offering them through paid downloads. It's not perfect, but I feel it's a step in the right direction. Heck, I would probably even live through well timed commercials in my downloaded anime if it were free and legal.
