How Long Would it Take?
« on: June 18, 2009, 01:57:36 PM »
For the United States to wipe North Korea off the map if they dare have the balls to fire a missle at Hawaii on the 4th of July? For those of you that aren't American, it's our one and only real holiday aimed at celebrating the country, it's our Independance Day.

They would be a smoking pile of rubble before the missle even hit.

It seriously depends on how much you care about the earth and the people who live on it... sure... you could wipe everything with a quick strike and some nice nuclear bombs... but I guess that wouldn't really server anyone's interests.

Since the current NATO doctrine doesn't favor Blitzkrieg tactics as well... hmm... marching in there and trying to mow everything down with tanks / planes etc... might definitely take a few weeks... if not months because the americans would let themselves be slowed down by guerilla tactics and other stuff...

North Korea will never do it. They are simply waving around their collective Communist dicks to get attention.

Oh, and NATO doesn't do squat for this world. Neither does the UN, for that matter. If we get pissed enough we will ROLL those suckers up. Heck, we ran in one country with a tiny bit of evidence, what do you think we'll do if someone nukes us?

If our military has balls - a penetrating heavy bomb directly on KJI - and assassinate his son.

Send nuclear armed subs over to NK - and have that badass General go on the tube again - ( The one who threatened NK for the US - a few years back ) - declare we've got missiles pointed at every single one of your cities - and if you move - you die.

It would never happen though.
Nothing.

If we attack first, UN or NATO will want nothing to do with it, I agree. If NK attacks first, or is tricked into a preemptive strike on SK, they definitely would want to be involved so they can have a say in what goes on, I'm sure.

It gets complicated.  If we start marching in the Chinese may get all in a huff over our presence and start marching south. If we just bomb the crap out of the infrastructure then invite the South Koreans to take over they may again get in a huff, we'll never drop nuclear weapons due to the proximity of allies and political blowback.  Right now North Korea is being an effective buffer zone.

Nuclear strike on North Korea? Crazy. The fallout will be dangerous, especially at this season. South Koreans won't allow it. Including my mom.

The United States could destroy the whole world several times over, but that's a non-issue.

A war, as they seem to be fought now, would probably take longer than anyone could tolerate, and that's all that matters.

It will likely mean the death of Korean and Japanese economy for a few years. Massive assets withdrawal... The Chinese will be happy, though. They might even profit from it.

All the Chinese care about is stability in NE Asia and continuing their dominance in the market. They've formed a new relationship with Russia and I'm slightly concerned what that means for US trade but that's a seperate issue. If we can convince the Chinese that this will lead to long-term stability on their continent (and make sure we let them know it is THEIR continent) to have a unified Korea that's open to trade with China and a lessened US presence in Asia as a whole, they'll probably lend a hand.

what makes you think a south korean would stop the united states military from launching a nuke, you have some serious misconceptions about the capabilities of people.

even if the whole UN said not to u yanks would do it anyway :P i personally love how the US just does what ever the fk it wants.

but if they did go and use some nukes theyd get it back from at least 2-3 other countries that support nth Korea and no government would do that to themselves/their country

May I ask what country supports North Korea nowadays?
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

No one I can think of. I don't think even China would support them if they try to nuke us.

Something called 'diplomacy'. (and rationalism) Which particular South Korean are you referring to?

you have some serious misconceptions about the capabilities of people.

What are these 'serious misconceptions' that I have about the capabilities of people?
