So i'm close to finishing the Arlong Arc and I can already say that Oda knows how to build up the main fight VERY well. I felt emotion and momentum flowing and it gave me chills right after Nami asks for Luffy's help. I hope the actual fight itself pays off.

491 from Yonkou-Fansubs was pretty much full with ghosting throughout the entire episode, can't understand how something like that can get released.

Lol, pretty much my conclusion after the episode too. The only real bad thing that come out of watching it. Watch it before dinner and get depressed over the only average food you're eating. ;D

New Topic:

-Are the fillers over?

If yes: From which episode?
If no: When will they be over?

Thanks

Which fillers? The two episode filler?

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Were there only two? I was prepared for sh*t loads of 'em.

So the story is already back on track?

they have yet to do more then a few filler eps at a time. Why would you assume they would take the bleach/naruto approach to it after like 500 episodes of not doing it

the longest One Piece filler arc is eleven eps at that is near the start of the show with the little girl and her dragon. everything after that is 2-7 eps

just think if Bleach had no fillers like One Piece it would not only be a good show it would be half the eps

Well I stopped reading this thread after page 5 because unfortunately somebody let go of a spoiler that I hadn't really wanted to know about just yet.

Anyways I just wanted to say I voted "Awesome". And I would have voted "Best anime ever made and ever will be made". I'm sincerely enjoying mowing through this anime, and I suspect I'll have a feeling of sadness when I catch up to the current episodes and can't watch but 1 episode a week. (I'm currently at 280) I don't know how I'll be able to manage, 20 minutes of an anime per week it's just frustrating. I wish they would just go faster, obviously these guys are writing machines.

My question is, are the movies original content? And if so, when should I watch them? I had planned on waiting until I finish the series, but don't really know if that's a good idea or not.

Last post on page 5?

The trick of not going into withdrawal is to read the manga. I expect my sadness and depression will come when One Piece ends, I'm sorry! One Piece will never end. It can't! It's unthinkable!

They are original in the sense that they're stories not told in the manga, basically filler but more entertaining.

IMO, wait until you're finish catching up with the series. Then you still have some One Piece adventures left even when catching up.

Takeshi - thanks for answering, good to know I'll have to some movies to watch later on. I like the manga idea, but it's the same storyline right? I'll give it a shot after the anime.

The last post on page 5 just get's me excited, I don't mind that little spoiler. The one I'm talking about is posted by pipituga boy, post number 8 of page 5. I suppose it hardly matters this seems like a spoiler thread anyhow.

I also have one quick question, can anyone tell me when the main fighting starts in the CP9 arc? I'm at episode 275 I think, they look like they are all set up. I'm only asking because I'd like to plan a day to marathon the main fight (with some pizza and red wine ;P) time is really scarce these days.

The same storyline? Without the manga there would be no anime...

Fights start at 285, there are some re-cap episodes in between where you are and this one
Finale / main fight starts at 304 till around 309

PS: Prepare box of tissues for 312

Okay, honestly... my cousin thinks One Piece is one of the best series out there... although that isn't saying much because he hasn't seen a lot of anime anyways.

I've seen a few episodes and I think it's okay at best. I mean it's not as bad as some of the other series that have a ton of episodes, but really with the episodes I've seen it's okay at best... it is a bit intriguing, but it doesn't make me want to watch it from the beginning at all.

So what are your opinions of it?
BTW I've seen a few eps from about 1-270 and I kind of know the story (he's my room mate or else I wouldn't be watching it at all lol). But I mean after those eps does it get any better?

maybe you've seen a few eps throughout half the story but you don't know the anime completely yet. one piece is one of my all time favorite animes. i know the art drawings are not the best out there, but what captures me the most about the anime is the comedy and the characters of each crew member. there are some fillers here and there like most animes that go over 50 eps. boring, i know. the theme of the storyline is not that exciting, but the powers of each character and fights are really interesting. it's just how i think about the anime. like any anime, it's not for everyone.

If you want episode 1, you'll either have to go with Funimation's subs or get them from the group who did the movies, in which case I would say just go with Funi's subs.

The first subs are alright because it keeps in the vulgarity language, but fucks up by adding childish font when Luffy attacks. Funimation has the subs too, not just the dub.

Even if you do HorribleSubs after you go far into the show, they just rip off Funimation so you might as well go all the way with Funisubs.
