Mac OS X v.s. Windows For Watching anime?

Many of the media players in linux can't play shit until you dl a codec. This goes for even mp3s and basic avi files in my experience. Of course it only takes 2 seconds to grab the codec though, and once you do you can play a lot of files.

fohfoh - it is true that a lot of linux distros don't come with certain codecs preinstalled, however that is why I specifically mentioned Linux Mint - so far it has played every media I have thrown at it, without the need to install additional codecs.

Agreed. But for me, totem, mplayer etc required a "2 second fix". But once done, all is well and you play all the shit you want to your hearts content. This "fix" is easy, not hard.

Ditto. I don't even bother with Windows for watching things. I throw it on a flash drive and use Totem on my laptop. Installing the video codecs needed in Windows messes up my audio codecs which I need more.
Macs are...well, overpriced, glorified peces of feces for snobbish hipsters. There's no excuse either, since the OS is a ripoff of Linux which is FREE. iPods are the cancer that is killing music. >:(
My advice: get an economical PC and put Linux on it (personally, I like Ubuntu). Customize to your hearts' content.
