Kurokami The Animation
« on: June 25, 2009, 10:29:31 AM »
AoT just released the final 23ep, the problem is that they only did 2-23 and not ep1.
what should i offer as ep1?

An additional question is whether AoT is the preferred group.

Do they intend to do the first one? If not maybe wait for another group (though there seems to be only one other group)?

I vote for waiting until nuke-bandaia finish it. Just look at staff involved:

Quote from: nuke
Capture: `House
Translation: Finella
Translation Check: Xabin
Time: A-LAWS
Edit and Typeset: Xenogears
Font Styles: koda
Encode: Meltingice
QC: Eej and PsycTint

No wonder it gave me gg vibe :D

I watched Kurokami up to episode.. 6, I think. Followed Nuke-Bandai and it wasn't bad. Haven't seen AoT's yet. Anyone have some comparison screenshots / examples?

atlonglast just offered Kurokami - The Animation and took a joint of 今日のSUBS and AoT for the 1st epsiode.

I checked ji-hi for comparison. I can't say much about it. The video looks fine for both but that's only for the first episode. Does anyone know how AoT fared with the rest of the episodes? The same for the karaoke; have they done karaoke for ep2-end?

Translation: Hmm, comparing the sentences on ji-hi both seem to have their interpretations of the audio (I have no knowledge of the Japanese language so I can only judge what I read^^). But look for yourself.

i made a comparison a while ago. my conclusion was that they are basically the same in terms of video quality. AoT uses some filtering that makes the still images sharper but deteriorates in fast paced scenes where detail is lost (bitrate starvation?).
i personally preferred nukes translation, aots felt a little odd.

i just downloaded ep5 of both again to make some comparison shots:

AoT is no. Nuke-Bandaia is better. Batsu-Geimu is the best for this show, in my opinion. I'm waiting for them.

230 MB for SD and 430 MB for HD, is that large nowadays?  ;)

Batsu seems to be stalled. You know for sure they are going to continue?

At 439 MB per HDTV episode, it still is.  Even with the many dark scenes, it's not like they need the bitrate that high to retain the quality of a blu-ray rip.
Well, Nuke's translation is one of the better ones, imo.

Nuke's was translated by the same person who translated gg's maria+holic and frostii's eden of the east. I have much respect for her.

For Batsu I think they no go for this show (It happen like this on many shows before too). And for Nuke-Bandai they may be better but still can't confirm that they will complete it or not. If you follow what happen at their website you will find many people there try to vote to drop this show. I not so sure about the reason but it look like they have problem about graphic quality go lower (may be their encoder disappear like Russian subs).

Finally recently AoT also released many fixed for the first episodes but I still not see their batch download yet.

*The first episode is from "今日のSUBS-AoT" not only Aot.

I don't they (Nuke) will drop Kurokami. Their release several episodes in a span of days last month. They are simply slow (at least not Menclave slow). They finished subbing Rosario + Vampire Season 1 after Capu2 finished airing.
