Ergo Proxy . . . overrated?

Yeah, have to agree with you there... which is why I said most of the time. Truth is some of those episodes were quite pointless and really did take away from the anime as a whole. Also didn't like the ending pretty much for the same reasons you mentioned.

Still think it's worth a watch, but whether you like it or not, well that's a whole other story.

Remember watching this a few years back. I'm a bit of an action-geek and what little action there was, is actually quite decent. The visuals where amazing and together with the hope that there's more action coming, I watched it to the end. I was a bit disappointed though, got my hopes up for some bad-ass and it never came. The storyline was alright but if I watch this again it'll mainly be for the stunning visuals...

Nazo:
I watched it. I used the series as a means to fall asleep at night (after 2-3 eps, I was half-asleep and then I slept :P). While there are a lot of philosophical elements, the drawing power of the series seemed lacking to me. Somehow I couldn't get very interested in Lil nor Vincent. Also, they dragged it along too much. They probably could have condensed it by about 50% and it would have been better overall.
