I have seen it, but it was ~4 years ago, and it was on DVD, so I don't know which of the fansubs and rips are any good. You might want to look into Blitz, supposedly they did a decent job.

Got any old fansubs on HDD/DVD/CD? Please take a look at this thread.

If you want dual audio, then go with a4e.  If you want japanese only, KAA is a lot easier to find with a stronger seed pool.  Quality should be similar, although KAA obviously uses a higher video bitrate since the file size is almost identical.

Most people have seen the show, so if they did look at the thread without posting, they were probably thinking the same thing I was.  Download the first episode of each and decide for yourself if the anidb ratings mean nothing to you.

If you'd prefer fansubs, Ani-Kraze still tracks the torrents for their version, albeit with very few seeders.  They've done some great work in the past, so I'd go with them if official subs aren't your thing.  Last Exile was; however, a Pioneer production, so expect very high quality from the official translation.

I picked up Last Exile  DVD set from Best Buy on Monday.

I have to say after only a few episodes I really think it was a great show.   The animation in particular is superb and very fluid,  and the composite shots mix in very well with the traditional animation.   The smoke especially I found myself asking if it was CGI or not.

Plus the Military terminology is great and goes very well with the show.

I'm not far enough into the story to judge that yet, but if anyone hasn't seen this, I highly recommend it on its  technical merits alone.

I really enjoyed the Steam punk aspect of the show. It was pretty cool.
