Vagrant Story - one of the best games no one has ever played, at least not many people I know have played it.
Parasite Eve series - #2 was especially good.
Military Madness - one of my all-time favorite turn based strategy games.
Der Langrisser I&II - though Fire Emblem is pretty similar.
Resident Evil series - with the RE4/5 engine would be awesome.

None?

Replaying old games most times leaves a lot to be desired. If you add on what has improved over the years it would be like a new game and thus not a remake. Of course if you removed what has grown worse over the years while doing it you could design a better game than what is currently out. But naa, most games I can think of would fail as remakes due to the changed market and expectations. Games I played 10 years ago I wouldn't even consider getting if they released now...

We could work under the assumption that the remade games retain the original awesomeness of the originals, while improving other aspects like the visual/aural experience or adding replay value  ::) Of course this would not be the case, but it's nice to imagine.

Most of the games I would like to see being redone would be RPGs from the '90s:

Phantasy Star IV: End of the Millennium
Secret of Mana
Breath of Fire II/III
Earthbound (seeing modern FMVs for this would be beyond words)

I just renewed my subscription to PlanetSide after I left the game 5 years ago. Hopefully there will be more than a dozen people playing  :D

What a giant mistake. SOE fixed almost nothing in five years and there are more flail spammers than ever...
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

As for all the posts concerning Chrono Trigger, how about a 3D remake?

Oh wait .... I have the odd feeling something like that almost happened, until Square Enix decided to destroy an awesome project.

http://www.opcoder.com/projects/chrono/

And I still wonder why Square didn't just think "Holy this, this remake looks pretty sweet, maybe we could just hire these guys and make some money off the game" ...

I got a GBA cartridge for Zelda A link to the past laying somewhere around here, but I remember playing it first on the SNES (have that cartridge somewhere too) then having my save wiped twice.  I was so pissed, cause I had just got the level 2 shield ah. the memories.  A redo of that wouldn't be bad and I would enjoy it.  I think FF9 is underrated as well.

Xenosaga,
Final Fantasy VIII (Not VII, oh god no),
Mega Man Zero and ZX (I'd like to see console versions),
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time,
The Super Robot Taisen series,
Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

In all honesty, I would prefer them to stay as they are, but if I had to choose, it'd be the above.

Proper remake of FF7. None of this Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus crap.... Crisis Core is a good and all, but I'd rather have a remake of the original. The tech demo for the PS3 caused me to cry so much lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thsnDqQu0mQ

Just the tech demo for people who have not seen it and I'm not claiming this is a trailer of the game either. This is just what I am wanting to become a reality. ^^

Vagrant Story was a stupid twitch fest with broken game mechanics and Final Fantasy VIII definitely did not have the best story ever.

I myself, ignoring all lame attempts to cash in on nostalgia, wish that developers would put a lot more genuine effort into remakes - for inspiration look no further than http://orioto.deviantart.com/art/Prisonniere-117005058.

I guess it depends on what you would call a remake.

I would love to see all of the psone and earlier FF's redone in a new graphics engine. and voice acting added.

If they changed the gameplay at all, even slightly, or edited the stories then I wouldnt bother.

Soul Hackers with an updated view of the near future.

Any of the great pc adventure games ,just to see how one would play with dynamic puzzles and full control.  The longest journey would be my first choice.

Lots of games would benefit from a more intuitive control set up and less choppiness to movement.
This is your home now. So take advantage of everything here, except me.

I've never met someone who took some else's opinion as their own.

I could list the effed up elements of FFVII as well. I just think VIII has a lot less of them than VII.

Now, that is rather idiotic accusation... Merely linking to wonderful review that explains magnificently why this game's story cannot be the best ever does not equal to "omg I stole opinions".

Is that right? Considering you didn't do the review, I'd say it does. ;D
