Does episode one fairly represent this show? I watched it but didn't enjoy it so I stopped downloading the rest.
If you're familiar with Shippuuden and its occasional epic moments (in terms of plot and execution), don't expect to find such here. Fairy Tail is Shounen without a goal. Unless meeting Igneel is considered a goal.

In my opinion, the highlight of Fairy Tail was Gray's arc.

I hated Fairy Tail spot-on after seeing the first episode. There's like nothing new to the genre, and the execution of the anime is poorly done.

The only redeeming point to Fairy Tail is the amazing OSTs TAKANASHI Yasuharu puts out for it.

Hm it's clear that Fairy Tail has no major goal as of the moment, Grays / Erzas / Castle arc were the highlights

to me it's more entertaining than naruto, and much more enjoyable to watch.

I think they are still introducing the characters... each arc has given us the background of a character.

And btw, the fighting scenes have gotten much better in my opinion, it kinda sucked in the beggining because it looked like an rpg; I mean:
-guy X uses attack B on guy Y
*predefined animation B*
-guy Y goes flying into smoke
*survive/not_survive*

but it's much better now.
Well, there is still the reserved 5 seconds of the episode for Erza's transformation XD

tl;dr: it has it's flaws but the story is developing nicely, you won't waste your time watching this.

Especially the new battle look they gave him after eating the rocks, very nice touch.

I would expect a few filler episodes, but we're actually jumping right into the next arc. :)

I've already read this one in the manga, but I think I'll stop so I can follow Fairy Tail again.

Thats the thing that makes this series better then most.... no freaken fillers, even if they'd be funny as hell considering how the anime has gone so far.
This last ep had me rollin.... I couldn't help but lmao where Iron took the stage, and the rest of the scene as well.... what a great ep lol

yeah he completely regained the lost rep in it, well he regained a lot in the ep where he had a casual talk with natsu after their fierce fight, I was like "LOLWOOT?? They were at each others throats and now they are like al buddy suddenly"
at that point I knew he will join Fairy tail.

and the last scene where Natsu kept complaining about the guild not being like it was, and "Now thats Fairy Tail!" XD

I was so hooked after first episode to this anime. I still am. 21-29 were excellent. I loved last couple of episodes very much. This fighting festival arch should be really good but I hear nothing can compear next arc. All I know bit hazy details which make me wait more and more. The divine OST... Very, very good. Yes, perhaps FT doesn't bring anything new to the genre but should it? In my opinion it works well.

Divine soundtrack, over the top movement, pure slapstic to nice fights... And no cleavage and panty shot in ever episode. Fairy Tail has alot to offer. I have not read the Ravemaster, authors previous work where alot things are referred. I find this anime very enjoyable. I just wish they would start release it here in Manga. English manga's are twice the as expensive as nativelly translated.

And I know that much future things that I say there's definately plot in FT, the red thread has been showed now and then previous episodes but IMHO
(click to show/hide)
pieces start get together. There's plot, definately.

When has Erza's arc ended? Have stalled FT (not only thanks to Ryugan) to watch that arc.
